(or does he have a history of this type of talk)

He wrote the book on it - well, several hundred, actually :D

At £55 per hour! :D

This thread does feel like everyone is giving Welshy a hard time...

But imho (sorry fella) he does occasionally put up threads just to be controversial for the sake of it.

Which is a shame, because a lot of the time he can contribute very valuably to discussion. Ho hum.

Am amazed that HM institutions allow access to laptops and broadband (they didn't when I was in, oops  )

,,,,,,A year-old RS4 saloon will still set you back £45,000, which works out as £875-ish per month on a decent APR over 5 years. ........

Aren't most company cars limited to a maximum of 3 years old? If so, how does that effect the figures?

Our company cars ar run on 48 month contracts. :)

Oh, and I thought Inland Revenue rules said 40p for the first 10k miles only, and 25p per mile there after?

In that case, if Welshy's friend had to pay off the car over the remaining two years, it'd be well over £2k per month.

Welshy's friend must be on £55 per hour too! ;)

But maybe I should cut the guy some slack, like Tom says... :D

Ok, so some are 4 years, still less than 5, and I'm assuming the cars are brand new, not a year old.

Incorrect if he takes the car from the comp it would be brand new and would be run for 4 years or 120k which ever is sooner.

£0.40 for the first 10k and then £0.25 thereafter - however I did say he uses it for commuting a bit of business miles and personal use. He does have a fuel card so saves £ there too.

If he decided to take the cash he could run any car up to 8 years old.

Also why does everyone assume he has it on HP? I think he is going to run it for 1-2 years (as he gets bored and always changes in that time frame) he is on something like PCP whereby you get a guarenteed buy back price.

Ive just put in the details of a brand new AudiRS4 saloon and fully serviced/taxed/insurance and its guarenteed buy back price is £23k in 4 years time with 40k. This works out to be £1kPCM - his isnt brand new its a year old so it will be less than this.

And using a company fuel card for personal use is, at best, benefit-in-kind and therefore taxable. Moving up from there, it's a disciplinary offence, and taking it to the extreme, it's fraud. Come on, you're supposed to be a qualified account - stop spouting rubbish!

Nice try, but PCP is only offered on new cars. Even main dealer Approved Used won't get anything other than standard finance terms...

I based my calcs before on the contract hire prices for the A4 SE and RS4 and got £714 PCM as the best price on an RS4 - so it wouldn't be hard to beat that. But that's not the point...

Thread wrongly titled

Should have been 'RSI' - as should his others :D

This still running then? I might read a bit of it later...

but he does 20k miles a year , so the car will be worth what in 4 years time with over 80k on the clock , and how much will the extra mileage charges be ?

If Welshy is trolling then this thread is obviously in breach of the rules so why not close it down?

Unless this thread has a trolling amnesty attached.

Skodas are terrible cars that only stupid people drive because they're too tight to buy a VW

People who use internet forums are all geeks and haven't got any real friends and they all need to get a life.

My mate has a Skoda Fabia twin turbo V10 that will do 100mpg. It's still crap though coz it's a Fabia.

baby seals deserve to be clubbed to death...

etc

etc

And in these threads does welshy give up ?

Could somebody explain trolling to me as I have a life and don't know what these things mean

:( Oh dear it's like that is it..........I had an mate once and we regularly had to sing that to him in an effort to stop the lying. It never worked on him either, needless to say he ain't a mate no more.

Seems to be :thumbdwn:

Trouble is to be a fibber you've got to have a fantastically good memory else you get caught out down the line.

My excuse is I just keep forgetting to take the tab.. Damn, there it goes again.

Ditto with ex-'friends'
