how heavy is TT225?

Featured Replies

because one couldnt pull away from me today, well not so you would really notice, and i have a standard vRS

are they lardy?

autocar said 1419 for the 180hp...

so assume similar spec dependent...

heavier than a vRS lighter than a 4x4 Octy.

that explains it,:)

I'm sick of cleaning them out of my Air Filter :grumpy:

They aint light because of the 4x4 system

But they have a very good top end, so unless you cane it in each gear, a vRS should match one

A well driven one should pull away from a vRS IMO, but not by too much

i must have a slow vRS. i can match a 180 but a 225 pulled away from me the other day!

I was having this argument with a guy at work as he has a 225 tt (remapped to 260) And he was not having his car was a lard ass

Hey, mine's only 1350, so what's this about? ;)

(And the Estate is 1365.)

Incidentally, the 225hp is a fat little bngger at 1465. Should make you feel really safe inside...

All modern cars are lard arses, the only exception to the rule is the 106 Rally and the Cleo Cup which does away with the toys and shed those pounds.

A work colleague took me out for a spin in his 106 rally and it was top fun, bags of lift off over steer.

Ive been around Brands in a 106 Rallye, they are just incredible little things,he was keeping up with all sorts of machinery

i also thought the vRS was only 1350,so the extra 100kgs and most likely fat drivers will certainly cause them problems

note to the guy who had one pull away (if the TT wasnt chipped)................it could juts be down to the right gear,i am sure i dropped to third and he stayed in forth,so he couldnt pull away by anything really noticable,a longer stretch, yeah,i am sure there would have been something in it

A TT225 will pull away from an Octavia vRS (both standard) - so long as the TT REALLY canes it

Yep, and your Speed Triple would kill them both until the wind blast ripped off you head ;)

It saw off a 911 Carrera 4 with ease recently

But 90mph+ does hurt the neck

I would concur with this statement....when mine was standard had a little tussle ;) with a 225 TT and although he was say 6 car lengths behind me the moment i moved out of the way when the motorway had cleared(we where both accelerating upto this point) and carried on going for it i half expected to see him come shooting by.But what i did notice is that he only gained about 2 car lengths in the space of about 2 to 300 yards. So it appeared when we where both first gunning it i wasnt exactly holding him up.Now im chipped i think it would be differant ;).........pulled a good 4 or 5 car lengths on an S3 the other day at xxx mph,not sure if it was the 225 version though(didnt they do a 210 version???)

A fiddled-with Octy vRS should easily put distance between it and a standard 225 at motorway speeds, for sure mines got a K04 turbo among other bits, but it was able to accelerate quick away from a 225 TT, so chipped Octys should have no probs...
