Had anyone problem with the rear wheel ecu 4x4 2002 product octavia?

Featured Replies

This is an email i sent to skoda ,is there anyone who had the same problem with the rear ecu?Do you know if it can be fixed , repaired as a part as the authorized dealer ask me to buy a new one as it's not my fault for the malfunction of the ecu and it's skoda responsibility to have it replaced with a new one.If it's not repairable where can i find a second hand or a new one at a good price as the new one costs more than 1000 euro here. Here is the mail any help will be highly appreciated as i cant afford to pay so much money and what's more to know that is not my fault as they authorized dealer here in Greece never had a deep ecu obd analysis on my car and never found an error code for my rear wheel transmittion ecu because it was never scanned as long as i have the car more than 4 years and i found by accident that it dosnt work as i went to measure my wheel power at dynamometer and the dynamometer diagram wasnt relaible at all.

Email to skoda

Hallo i am an owner of a skoda octavia 4x4 production year

2002.I am sending you this email to ask you about the Ecu rear wheel

unit which controls the power to the rear wheels of my car and i am

informed that this is a product of Haldex company. As many owner of this

car say around the forums and skoda itself that the product line of 2002

4x4

skoda has an ecu of the rear wheel which is malfunctioning

.Skoda in Greece never informed any of the customers for

this problem with the result that many people had problems after some

time and never knew it until the had a dynamometer wheel test or deep

OBD ECU scan on their cars and as a result that most of them have the

rear ecu out of guarantee and have to pay it without being their

resposibility.I am one of these customers who found after many

years this problem after going my car to a wheel dynamometer few

months ago and i found out that there was a false power horse at the

rear wheel of my

car. What's more when i had tested my car for errors through the OBD deep

analysis electroning

board of the main ecu and and the rear one i found that the rear ecu

dosnt work right with the result that my car dosnt perform right on the

rear wheels although i always had my car tested and serviced at your

dealer in Greece they never had a deep OBD (on board diagnostic)analysis

of my car and they never had my rear ecu unit of my car scaned for

errors as a result your dealer in Greece to ask me to pay for a new one

ecu which costs quite much and as i believe firstly that it's not my

responsibility as a customer to cover the cost of this false product

line of ecu 2002 and secondly that after so many years that i had my car

serviced at your dealer its your dealer's responsibility to let me know

that ecu wants to be replaced before my ecu goes out of quarantee and

because i own the car from 2004 more than 3 years from now.

As i know that many other car companies would cover the replace of

ecu if it is proved that it's not customers fault or misuse i beliver

that you would be able to do the same for my car.In case you are not

willing to replace my ecu I would like to ask if the rear ecu of my car

is repairable? from

your company and if i can send you the part to your head office in czech

to fix it?And how much it will cost? How long it will take for the

repair? As i know your company covers this

part for only 5 years quarantee although i feel almost sure that the ecu

has been malfuntioning for more than 3-4 years and i wasnt able to

diagnose it as i was driving the car.If you would like any serial number or

product number of my ecu i can provide it to you as i also can give you

the production number plate on the windscreen of my car for you to test

the production year of my car etc.

In addition i would like to ask if you cover a lifetime guarantee

for the ecu parts after you diagnose that it wasnt customer's fault for

the damage of it and it was just a false production line unit.

Hope that your company can find a solution to my problem and make me

believe that as i customer i can rely to your company for many many

years to come and as a driver i am really satisfied with the performance

of your products and that you treat me equal as other companies worlwide

would treat me.Looking forward to your reply

You can buy a upgraded Haldex controller in the UK for £450, even cheaper in Germany. Try Audi TT forum as most modified cars have had an upgraded Haldex controller fitted, even Golf R32's.

It is also a plug and play device.

Thank you Gilder .Could you please pm or post any websites and forum to look for ecm control unit for my skoda octavia 2002 4x4 ?And what do you mean by saying upgraded?Does it have different mapping in it than the original one?

The Haldex ECU on my 2002 4X4 reported 1 fault - 65535 Internal Control Module Memory Error - when scanned with VAG-COM in 2005 and was changed under warranty. The original part number was 02D 900 554B; the replacement was a later modified version - 02D 900 554D.

Does anyone know the cheapest online store for haldex ecu unit which ships it to Greece europe?

Standard or modified? I think standard are only available from VW.

modified or original would be ok for me as long as it is not from a faulty production line of 2002.Even a second hand from a car that has upgraded his haldex awd ecu it's ok also so if you know someone who has upgraded his haldex ecu and has an old one please pm me thank you all.Glider thank you for your interest and the prices on these stores are very good
