Abarth punto review...

Featured Replies

Hmmm. Looks nice. An attractive looking set of figures. Will you be upgrading soon then.

Looks good, apart from those hideous wing mirrors :o:rofl: Certainly a very attractive package and an interesting comment about the warranty not being affected by mods!

Chris

Looks the same as the new fiat 500........But bigger. Liking the styling on the new arbarths.

depends if they do a diesel..... they have the petrol and diesel variants in the sporting..... I fancy the 180 bhp SS, but I'm not sure the relevant insurance and fuel economy tax ect would suit the 50k a year :( ... but I may be tempted anyway!

and jeez, if the arbarth starts at £13k , and a standard fabia 2 diesel is £12k.. its going to seriously undercut the vRS version..... and at 180 bhp be on a par in performance with the likes of the £15.5k corsa (180bhp)

and Chris, yeah, I was quite suprised by that, you are still protected by warranty even after you do mods after buying.... but then my dealer knows mine is remapped, and I've had no problems with a warrenty claim I did for new drop links....

I'm lead to believe that there's a 180bhp diesel engine coming soon.

Put that in a Bravo Abarth and I'll be very tempted

The bravo sport currently has the same engine as mine running 150bhp flavour :)

If there is the 180bhp diesel, I'll be putting my name down!

look, blue smoke already :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I have to say i took a sporting out, and while the car was reasonably well built and looked nice there was one thing which mean I could never buy one.

The steering is so light and there is an option ot make it lighter but not heavier :(

I read that the SS pack to take it from 150 to 180 will cost another £4k when I searched on another site, I'll go find it now....

Some interesting reading and pics here: Fiat Grande Punto Abarth - First Official Pictures - Carmagazine.co.uk

And here for the Essesse version, apparently £16k starting then £4k for conversion: Fiat Punto Abarth Essesse - Road Test First Drive - Autocar.co.uk

mmm the last review was a proper drive of the SS... guessing at much higher prices than autoexpress guessed at though.... all depends on what fiat UK decide... my dealer says the success off the 500 will depend largley on how they price it...

luckily the new bravo came out cheap.... they chose it on fifth gear over the focus, mostly because it was about 3k cheaper for the same spec!! so fingers crossed it will be nearer 14k than 16k .........

I'd get my name down, but I don't like the fact they are going to open specialist "arbarth" dealers..... I just hope they will sell them through the normal dealer network.... (and I wouldn't be able to afford 16k :( )
