variable/fixed service prices

Featured Replies

hi all !!! right i have been looking at loads and loads of threads regarding fixed and variable servicing and to be honest i couldn't work out what was the cheapest, so its over to you guys that have a vrs that have had a few services done ,what i want to know is, what it cost you for a service ?(main dealer only) and at what mileage ?and is your car on fixed or variable?

cheers

FM

if it helps you when I had mine service last year it was £200.00 for the 20k including brake fluid. this came up 1 month before it's 2 years with about 16K on the clock

the other dealer was quoting £250.00 with the brake fluid.

from what I can work out is that it is cheaper on the long life servicing because missing every other service. but not sure if it any better or worse for the car in the long term.

Dealer prices will vary widely for the same service, they all seem to have there own labour rates making a comparison difficult unless each service was done at the same dealer.

that's just not cricket is it!!!! how can stealers charge differant rates for the same job !!! i would like to do the servies myself(and save million's ) as it's only oil and a few filters but its the inspection and the stamp that i would really need, as they know what to look for on a specific car ,i have been looking at the prices awsome gti charge and they are quite resonable, intrim service 10k inc oil and filter change fault code scan and inspection £100 20k service is £160 so i think i will go to them when the time comes

just had £160 for a £10k service... well, thats what the bill was for, I paid a lot less

that's just not cricket is it!!!! how can stealers charge differant rates for the same job !!!

It's worse than that; the bill rarely has any relation to what you're quoted on the 'phone, and never any relation to what the sales person told you it'd be.

If I do buy an Octy VRS I'm getting the service costs in writing when I buy the thing.
