Recalculating variable service interval?

Featured Replies

Sorry have asked this before but as part of a bigger question.

I'm about to take my car back to the dealers as it's started asking for a service in 1000 miles after covering only 8k since the last one.

It seems my car has changed to fixed intervals, they said they can reprogram it (with, i think the mileage and date of last service) then set it back to variable, can this be done?, or is more likely that all they will do is reset it via the dash and i'll be back at the dealers in 9k time?

Also wondering if the oil sensor in the engine will tell me before the fixed interval one kicks in (thats is of course if they dealers don't fix the varible servicing properly)

Bloody irritating if they don't fix it as I will only find out when the car asks for a service again.

Are there any specific setting I can get them to print out to find out if they have reset back to variable properly?

Thanks in advance.

They ought to be able to set the max mileage and max time interval for it.
