Read up lots, read up on what people will post here in response. Sit back. Let it all sink in and then decide.

Jabba ARB

Brake upgrades

Remap (custom) - specify smooth torque curve so as to not knacker your clutch and Dual Mass Flywheel

are probably the most important ones (and in that order of priority).

And my 2p worth - Miller's Diesel Sport 4

Cool. All info n help will of course be greatly appreciated! Apparently my vRS has a "Diesel Tuning Box" already fitted? The only mod i've done so far is replaced the standard filter with a Pipercross jobby lol

If it has a Dragon tuning box it will be up to about 160-170bhp.....but the torque comes in with a bit of a rush so mind the clutch

Thanks folks!!!! I take it the best thing i could do is replace the clutch anyway, Octygone? Any recomendations? Cheers

If it isn't slipping, and if you don't floor it in a high gear at lowish revs too often then the clutch and DMF should stand it.

A new clutch (uprated ) will cost £450 up fitted IIRC

cool, i always hammer it through the box at mid revs, scares alot of cars up my way.....the wife hits me alot for doing it though lol

ditto, what with her and the Talex sometimes :thumbdwn:

If I'm not being presumptious it sounds like you've a burning desire to spend (esp with your comments about a new clutch).

As I said before - have a damn good read up, get advice from here (and elsewhere) and then decide on what mods you want to make.

That way you should get the most 'bang for your buck' ( be it in performance, roadholding, braking).

And try the Miller's - that is a definite keeper.

lol, worrying aint it lol I need to keep my mods "low key" so as not to arouse any suspition with the good lady lol as she cant drive, performance improvements shouldnt be a problem but bigger brakes, suspension etc would be a bit tricky lol..........she just dont understand lol lol lol

In that case start with the Millers - a nice gentle mod that will improve performance a little (or economy - I say or because you tend to use the extra performance), runs smoother, quieter, will cut down on smoke, clean injectors, lubricate pump etc.

Approx £10 to £12 for 500 ml which treats around 110 gallons. There is a Group Buy on at the moment - or you can buy a 5 litre container for around £60 - it then works out at equiv of £6 for 500ml so a big saving if you're doing the mileage.

COOL!!! i've seen it advertised in my local Motor Factors. If it works as well as you say, i'll get some tomorrow to try, thanks mate...much appreciated as always

Hiya from a bloke who's roots are in Ayrshire.

If there's already a "tuning box" fitted, check make, model etc. Something like a Dragon or a Tunit is pretty much the same thing as a generic remap in terms of effects (but intercept tuners work very differently to remaps). OTOH it could be one of the dreaded flea-bay resistor boxes, which just (when they do anything) con the management into thinking that the engine is cold.

WOOHOO!!! howdy mate lol Can these damage engines????? silly question but where would it be placed.
