Pulls like a ******* train is all I can say. Couple of niggles to iron out, but very impressed with the power, and the delivery, and the smoke :D , and the 3rd gear wheelspin, and the way it pulls in the high rev range.

Top job

So - everything's come together now has it? :D Are you still running stock injectors, or is this with the TD Stage 2 turbo.

Smoke? Clarify exactly what you mean there please? :D

Spec is :

Standard engine, Stage 2 Turbo Dynamics Hybrid, Standard injectors etc, Forge FMIC, Sachs Clutch. Oh and prototype larger intake pipe to the airbox.

By smoke, I mean that I cant see the headlights of the car behind me at night :D

That will have to be resolved, as will the suspected turbo boost pipe issue, which causes limp mode at full boost over 100 (kmh ;)) Sounds like a pipe popping off, but when I switch off and back on, it rectifies itself....so withouth further inverstigation, not sure what that is at the moment. So, couple of small teething problems, but all in all, I cant belive the way it pulls

nice one dave, glad you stuck with it and got it fixed :D

imagine what it'll do with proper injectors and a bigger turbo on there :D

good figures there shifty!

"Awesome" figures (pun wholly intended)

That turbo must be a good bit of kit. Sounds like minimal smoke to me. :P

Excellent results :)

Octy slaying time :)

Great results with standard injectors. You need to hold max power for longer though, topping out very early. :)

You also need to post up the proper WHP graph. Not the big boys big figures one.

Octy slaying time :)

depends on the octavia, with that power i'd say it'll be quicker than any simply remapped octavia but any octavia with equivelent mods will learn him :D

trouble is thats a very small percentage of the owners even on this forum where its much more common than in the real world.

Could be the fuelling that's causing the tailing off after 3800rpm? Mine keeps the fuelling on right to the redline, but then I have lpg on top of the diesel, which is perhaps why mine can keep 240bhp odd to the redline. I'm liking the torque plot though. Good to see it peeking where it should on a performance TDI - up at 3500, not down at 2500. :)

How are you finding it after the Octy? I realise it's a 'different' experience but was wondering what the power delivery and other differences were like?

Hi Dave

Thank you for that

I am just pleased when I got back in one piece ;) from our little drive

It is a rapid car and with Dave behind the wheel , it handled like a dream :D

We will get that hose checked out for you , and have you back slaying the Octy`s

It would be interesting to see what its' ¼ mile time would be Dave. I’d love to see the looks on the faces of the Golf/A3 brigade when you toasted them.:D:thumbup:

About time too :) Thats one thing that always put me off going the hybrid turbo route.

When you comin to York for a drive mate?

Sounds like he's driving via London first.

How much boost are you running shifty? Mine does the same thing, where it decides to go into limp mode. I'm told this is caused by overboost. It happened 3 times on a 5hr journey when I first had my VT2 fitted. I'm currently running 2.55bar boost which it should cope ok with. I may have to look into making a trip to Awesome in the new year as I'm looking into places for a new remap but don't want the car to be too smokey.

I hope you mean 1.55 bar in real terms. ;)

Nice results shifty.

As above I hope that's 1.55bar + one atmosphere.

How much boost is everyone else running with there hybrids? I'm still only running 1.75bar but will be going for 2bar upto 3.5-4k rpm soon.

Mine goes to 2 bar right away, then backs off to about 1.9

Yes my bad, must have been a typo ;) but mine holds boost from 2000 - 4700rpm but my car only produces 182bhp/290lbft however its getting looked at this week. This is why I'm looking around for other places to remap it.

Thye mapping man said he set boost to request 2.0 bar. It MAY be overboosting then as suggested. I'm also getting my glow plug light on after booting it sometimes, so maybe the injectors are maxxed out too? (suggested by Col G).

I dont know, but obviously on the rollers no faults showed up. I don't mind a couple of teething issues, and I'm certain all will be well after the next visit.

My Ibiza PD130 had a VT2 which was boosting 1.9-2.0 bar from Allards map ;)

Theres a guy near here with a remapped Fiat diesel - when he floors it he leaves a long, thick, black line of soot on the road
