Is this a possible hint at the new Fabia vRS?

Featured Replies

Cara , whats a dealers perspective on this? Are you worried about losing potential sales to other marques without a vRS?

Already happening!!;)

yup......

I have heard a good rumour that there is a 2.0 tdi 170 bhp ferby going to appear in the next few months.

Can't see it myself.

That would mean a Fabia as powerful as the Octavia vRS and more powerful than any other non vRS Octavia.

Also thinking more toward the rest of the group it would make it more powerful than the Golf GT 140 and as powerful as the GT 170.

was the mk1 octavia vrs using a130bhp diesel? same as fabia vr? i dont see why that matters.Other marques do it. Now I know the octi had a 150bhp petrol too but there a different size so not comparable.A golf and the octy are bigger than the fabia any way

You can say that again!

found out today (probably old news) why the fabia vrs isnt gonna be released for ages.... you wont beleive it (i couldnt at the time), they cant find any brakes in the entire vag group that will be able to slow it down quick enough...

I hope that's a good sign for the future :)

Im sure the ones from an R8 would do the job.... ;)

but they wont fit, first thing i said..

Paul - you must have misheard - they were surely talking about the 2.0l ;)

Chris

Unfortunately if the new VRS has 2ltr 170 engine it will also have a very nice price tag to suit.

Also will the engine be as easy to customise as the original??

I gather the big problem with remapping the PD170 is the DPF - it's enough of a problem that at least one tuner won't touch them...

If a new vRS does happen, I'll place a bet on it having the 1.4 TSI (in 140bhp guise)

Skoda say there WILL NOT BE a VRs in '08...

Shame but true, i work at a dealer and got the bulletin with it said in b&w!

What about 2009?

yup as above i had it confirmed too. no furby vRS due to not finding brakes to fit the car!

BUT ive been told theres gonna be a sport version due out next year. so its back to my original plan of fitting a furby with the spoilers, springs and getting a chip with confirmation that our service bay will honour the warranty work.

i hope it works out, we are loosing a good 20 percent of sales due to no vRS :(

Let's hope Skoda UK get the sport spec right - same interior as the Roomster Scout, 16 or 17in wheels and the spoliers would be nice.

They are going to lose another sale from me too....I do like the sound of the possible vRS Superb...what was it, 3.2l V6 TDi, 300 bhp, 4wd etc etc? sure I read it somewhere about the new one when it comes out??

Can't fault the mk1 fabia vRS, great car, just dissapointed that Skoda wouldn't just say...'look, there will be one in 2009 if you wanrt to hang on'......er, sorry, mine is 3 yrs old now and it won't see a 4th birthday with me, looks like I'll be getting the new Focus after all.

Just seems funny that Skoda seem to be ignoring the loyal fan base that they have (or won't have), for the Fabia vRS.

I wouldn't buy a standard Fabia anyway, but I can see the price creeping up to at least £14,000 for the new one if it arrives.

Just my thoughts, :)

Ben

It can have round spot lights , those are the 'cornering' front fogs , the 'normal' ones are round.
