very much so Alex, went 3 times last year. prob only 2 this year but you never know its so adictive. for advice and info try Ben Lovejoy's website www.nurburgring.org.uk all you need to know, for places to stay nurburg has loads of hotels and surrounding villages have plenty of cheap b&b type accomodation.

So, THIS is how the rumours start... :D

25th / 26th may be a little too early for me but I'll try and keep eyes peeled for a late summer trip! :D

June, Jason, not may :P

going in November

big tip.go on a weekend when the track is closed saturday,on Sunday there will be far less cars (sometimes as low as Sunday) and Monday will be deserted. There are few if any UK trips on these weekends apparently

Could be tempted ;)

just been looking at the dates again and November is all mid week dates so i guess it will be quieter,so could be a good idea to wait till then.

the other dates during the year are all weekends.

not sure what to do now.

Elculo, when in November are you going?

Alex its pretty much open everyday, whole weekends are pretty busy with lots of visitors from the UK. November will be quiet but the weather is also unpredictable, you can have anything from overnight frost to snow, its also VERY cold. in late september the temp drops to below 0c at night because its so high in the mountains.

Last year I went in March, August and September. all except for March were full weekends. August was very quiet and there was few track closures. September on the otherhand was manic and the track was closed more than open.

thats good to know Manny,

the dates that i have posted already are from Ben's site.

when you went did you stay nearby?

so August is quiet, thats well worth remembering.

so who's coming then????

When we went in March we stayed at a b&b just a few mins drive from nurburg, but it meant you couldnt drink in town and drive back. In august we stayed even further afield just outside cologne (about 40 mins drive on autobahn). In september I managed to get a room right in the middle of town (motorsport hotel). for a B&B type place you will be paying around 30-40 euros for a double per room per night, the hotel was more expensive at around 80 euros per room per night. The key is to book at least 2 months in advance. The september trip was booked the same week of departure, when I arrived I had to find somewhere to stay as nothing was booked before leaving home.

there looks like some promising dates there, especially in september when the circuit is closed on the Saturday then full days after.

June looks pretty good aswell.

September seems good as would mean good chance of getting a hotel near the ring.

but the other part of me is saying go sooner!!!!!
