Techie question of the day - Exchange 2003

Featured Replies

I have someone with a PDA which runs Windows Mobile version 6. We have a frontend exchange server that sits on the web, and a number of users who sync with it over GPRS using activesync.

The problem I have is with the WM6 device. Basically, it doesnt sync calendar appointments properly. It looks like appointments made on exchange through outlook, sync to the device, but it doesnt work the other way. It works both ways for every other version of Windows Mobile.

So the question, is there a patch, either for WM6 or Exchange 2003 OMA/OWA to allow the WM6 device to sync properly, or has anyone else seen the problem and found a fix.

Right, done some digging. Keeping in mind there is only one user with this problem, the event log on the main exchange server has.

event id: 8206 - Calendaring agent failed with error code 0x80040215 while saving appointment.

event id: 8213 - Calendaring agent failed to update the free/busy cache during an appointment save or delete operation.

event id: Calendaring agent failed in message save notification with error 0x800703eb on email@domain: /Calendar/{5070AA07-3BAD-45C0-B764-035850810B67}.EML.

I am also seeing

Event ID: 8230 - An inconsistency was detected in email@domain: /Calendar/{5070AA07-3BAD-45C0-B764-035850810B67}.EML. The calendar is being repaired. If other errors occur with this calendar, please view the calendar using Microsoft Outlook Web Access. If a problem persists, please recreate the calendar or the containing mailbox.

All the errors relate to the same user account, there are no errors for other accounts.

cant help im afraid, but a quick google reveals a whole load of WM6 sync problems.. none with a definative solution...

mine syncs fine...

orbit with wm6 to exchange 2003.

Just to put this to bed, in the end I had to delete the users mailbox and recreate it. All is working now, although I cant see what had happened to break the thing in the first place.

Bizzare.... glad you got it fixed, ill bear that in mind if we have any probs at our place, we have just started rolling out XDA orbits with WM6 on them.
