it could be,i popped into the dealers on my way back, they know me well and knew what my plans for the car were when i bought it so maybe they gave me a bit extra?though they say they wouldn't have played. We will get to the bottom at the next meet when we study the boost log on vagcom,we will see what it is doing.

Well... had a good run out with Nelly guys....

If only i had a car worth putting on the rollers (dont think she'd even turn the rollers!).

Makes me want a Fabia VRS even more!!

Would it be possible to re-map a 1.4TDI Fabia? Am thinking of a Fabia 1.4 or 1.9 TDI then get it re-mapped and see how i go...

only real skoda at this meet.you should have put here on,it's not about big power its about fun:thumbup:

i had a 1.4 tdi arosa that was remapped put out 106 bhp on the rollers from 75bhp std

i think all the PD engines can be remapped , go for it, you know it makes sense

nice to meet you fella, and I loved your car... didn't even know they did 'em in L&K! lol....

as someone else said, the 1.4 will map nicely....

if you get the 1.9PD100 and map it, the power goes to about 140bhp, so will keep up with 'normal' vRS's well, (me and Rob tested this at a cat'n'fiddle meet ;) )

nice to meet you all too!

Glad you liked the car... at least you know now that they did them in an L&K!

Yeh was looking at the 1.9's, and saw the power they have... can pick a 2002 plate with about 40,000-60,000 on clock for around £4,000. So could have a diesel VRS wannabe for 4.5 K!!!

Will keep you guys posted and ask advice if i need it....!

Again... had a good time, would love to come along to other meets!

Thanks

I want to thank Steve for a great day and was happy with my results with the fact it took me 10mins to change my boost on the actuator.

Andy's quattro got good readings for being 21 years old. We worked out it has only dropped 3 bhp. I heard that the turbo was glowing plus a good job it didnt break down due to me being the mechanic that looks after it.

Cheers for the day and see everyone at the next meet!!!!!!!

sounds like the rollers weren't right, some of those figures are way too high.

how can only some of those figures be wrong

surely they will all be in the ball park or all be way to high/low

i think ChrisRs Honda had just under the manufacturers figures , and i wouldn't call that run in yet at only 4k miles

i agree there was at least one odd figure , but we will wait and to see the VAGCOM logs on that one before passing judgement

Mine was spot on bhp but higher torque:

Honda: 251 ft/lbs

Awesome RR: 271 ft/lbs

Don't think Dave would agree that the rollers were giving high readings either :D (unless they are biased against FIAT )

my readings were 155bhp and 268 ft/lbs which from last year is up 2bhp and 15 ft/lbs due to my exhaust.

Good talking to some new/old faces. Wish I could have stuck around a little longer :(

Shaun

Just got back online. Thanks for a great day guys. Oh and thanks for putting up with us running non-skoda cars on the day.

Got 247.35bhp @ Fly and 240ft/lb which made me very happy :)

Seems logical also as l've gained 8bhp from last year since l did filter/exhaust/bov.

Was good to see other non-skodas too i think... and some pretty good ones at that.

Think your little frenchie didn't do too bad... sounded pretty good anyway!!

my car is booked in with angel and after sharkys result im having second thoughts and doubts now.

Yeh pretty dissapointing results... would have expected a bit more from that engine.

Maybe it could be other things on the car limiting its power... air filter, exhaust etc????

You surely should get some decent results on your VRS!

i spoke to angel this morning and im still going ahead witht the remapp and smailes.

got a rr being organised in warrington to test the map when i get round to having it done

Again, thanks for the good day on the rollers.

Herman the German put out 10bhp more than I was expecting, and survived being rev'd to death !

Goodness, that's a revvy engine in the Cooper :D

Sounded good

Any pics/video yet Steve??

Forgot about that - which RR was that again Tom?

Steve

Regal at Southampton.

The mapped ones were making 180/185bhp, and a dragon box Superb made 167bhp IIRC.

Can pop some photos up now Chris - I'll sort something out with you about video though. The ones taken are quite big currently and ideally need editing/re-encoding to get down to a reasonable size.
