I can remember years and years ago trying to get Dad to buy a 623i. This was when the Rover 600 was a new model as well.... Must be 12 years+ ago. He ended up getting another Passat in the end though - maybe for the best?

The 'family' car is the Escort, but as the heater matrix has sprung a leak this is filling in.

I think the head gasket usually give up if other things are neglected. Its had regular coolant flushes and a new water pump which is usually the cause.

My Dad had one of these in the 90s I remember, a 623iS. Remember it being decent and fairly quick, so the turbo must go well!
