Fabia VRS "Recalls/Faults"

Featured Replies

HI Im new to the site and read this thread with interest..

I have had had my VRs for a year now and in the last 6 months have had 2 new turbos fitted....the second one being a fault that the dealership didnt correctly refit the connecting hoses...spookily the same skoda assist guy managed to come out to me to tow me back to the dealers..and he was a jolly nice chap !!

So far im 6 weeks into the 3rd Turbo and (touch wood) all is going well...but i also put this down to the different dealership i went to who actually flushed the whole system out and not just replace the faulty part..

Is it just going over bumps? or do you get it changing gear too?

I get it changing gear (on slightly jerky gear changes), revving high and dropping off the accelerator, going over bumps and knocks etc. bascially anything that makes the engine wobble about including starting the engine.

If you do, its probably this mount. if not, its probably something else.

Theres an official skoda bulletin about greasing the gearbox side mount to stop the knocking. Getting this done on monday so hopefully it'll cure it.

Lots of stuff if you search mate

Just going over bumps, gear changing is ok, not the best though. Does also happen when i start the car. Engine mounts ? Oh, also happens more when the car is heavy e.g full fuel tank etc.

Let me know about this greasing the gearbox side mount, maybe i can convince my dealer to do the same.

i have an 06 plate and it has started to make a strange sound when i come off the clutch in third gear whils accelerating relatively hard, it only does this in third so it must be the box, also it rattles quite a lot when i give it full lock could this be the bushes on the anti roll bar as mentioned elsewere if so, does my warrenty cover me for the box and the bushes? any help would be appreciated.

tom

A list would be great but you cant just turn up at the dealer with a massive great list of faults and recalls for one the fault has to actually be present and experianced by the technician and recalls are generally specific to a vehicle batch so not all recalls will be required on your car!!! be good if you could do that though but they would end up needing your car for a week!!!!

hi i bought a skoda fabia vrs special edition a couple months ago after covering around 5.000 mile i have developed a rather annoying squeak from the rear which has made me turn my radio up to cover the noise!!

i took it to my local dealer and they said it was down to the head rests however i removed them and the noise was still there, is it the runners inside the seat that is the problem or could it be something more sinister? noise sounds like it's coming from the suspension but skoda aren't giving me any help or answers!!

Fold seat backs forward, look for two rubber stops that support/tension the seat backs, unscrew them 2 turns each, job done.
