Other loves past and present. Show me yours.

Featured Replies

As per title really. This is my present other love a 1986 Mitsubishi Pajero. 21 years old and still going strong this is my car that i paid £550 for and not the VRS company car that i have a love \ hate relationship with. The Paj or Flo as i call her has only had one problem since owning her from 122,000 miles and that is the clutch plate disintegrated, down to old age i think but as it is rear wheel drive not a big job and the girlfriend and me had her all sorted in a weekend. She does 24MPG carries 7 people and the build quality is superb. She has air con, central locking, rev counter, remote tailgate locking, remote petrol flap opening, 2 or 4 wheel drive, head rests all round ETC. Not bad for a 21 year old diesel. Only downside is service intervals I.E Oil change at 3,000 miles.

I`ve shown you mine now show me yours!:)

No need for me to put a pic up. :o I like that truck though. Sounds solid.

That Paj looks in incredible nick for it's age. they usually end up with a snorkel, baloon tyres and various things welded to them a la A-team. Nice motor.

She is........ Rock solid. Bought her to carry around the disabled grandaughter. Wheelchair with her in fits nicely. If the VRS makes me Jekyll then this is my Hyde.

cant beat Jap reliability, it will go for ever

Oops, wrong topic. :D

Cavalier 1.7TD - damn good workhorse, 208k miles and few faults during (hard, working) ownership

OK - to keep on topic I have found on Ebay, a past loved car. This look identical to the 1.9i ZX volcane I passed my driving test in. Awesome little car. It was an old one too so had no cat fitted. :D

Gotta love the them Citroens. Based on the 306 and diesel? Am i right. If it was the diesel when they came out they were the fastest thing since Adam took Eve.

The 1.9 petrol was a stormer...

The diesels were just good for what diesels were at the time.

And this was the first car that I officially "owned" but it was only because Dad put the car in my name so it didn't become a marital asset during the old's divorce.

1.9 TurboD in Aura trim. Image courtesy of google images. "mine" was totally standard as I was not into modding back then. It was this colour though - Forest Green

That Pajero is in amazing condition. I remember Tamiya doing a radio controlled version of that many years ago.

Back to the thread title, I've had many automotive loves/affairs, but this one always springs to mind first.

But as they say you should never go back. A couple of years after selling it, I came across my beloved Capri was on eBay, this is what I found. Heartbreaking it was.

I had one of those too. Same model, and (as it was dark green) I think it was the same colour. The Aura version had luxurious touches like a fold-down armrest in the middle of the rear seat. No piccies I can post though.

Absolutely loved this car.

Done me 8 years but alas tin worm got it in the end.:thumbdwn:

1.6 90bhp and went like stink, And it could corner too (miss that:D)

And my coupe project really never got finished, and it broke down every time I drove it, but it was ace!

.. and you do know what Pajero menas in Spanish.. ? :D

My 7th car but first love, spent loads on mods for it (brakes, suspension, gearbox, exhaust, wheels). Gave it away for a song 6 years ago, seen it twice since on eBay. Wish I'd never got rid of it.

I've a fair idea:D

SD1 Now thats an iconic car as was the P6 3500:thumbup:

First car I bought myself. 1,2 litre 60 bhp air-cooled, gas suspension. Corroded to dust in less than 10 years :( but otherwise it was lovely!

Long time since I last saw one, probably not many left out there.

Looks very similar to my old one, except mine was a 300 TDI in dark blue with black steelies. Amazingly competent offroad
