Feel like Dave Lee Travis reading out the sad stories. Car looked real special in the first pics.

Now I have the tune going round in my head which only adds to my misery.

I was a member of an offroading club and every month we'd be invited to a disused quarry and we could just "go play". Interesting to see people turn up in Range Rovers fresh from the show room there too!

Couple of friends had Defenders and the only place where they could go that we couldn't were very short bumps where we would run aground due to the longer wheel base  Still, you could actually drive places and hold a conversation in the Disco!

We used to go to a local quarry, and a local farm for pay and play days... we also did a fair bit of green laning on the bits of the ridgeway we were allowed on and also on Salisbury plain.

a few years ago, my folks bought a brand new series 2 discovery, and it'd not even covered 20 miles before we'd driven it across a friends field :)

it was very capable even on the standard (heavily road biased) tyres...

Love my Disco.

Hey RainKing , nice 911 and Splitty , are you in BWA?

Just seen this! Cheers...

The missus drives the Splitty, and she was technically the first female member of BWA (once they've got their **** in gear and updated the member list on the website)

best 1/4 mile so far (on track) is a 17.02

This was mine, 1978 MGB GT.... over a period of 3 years my Dad and I basically re built the thing this included;

- Drilled front brake disks and new front brake calipers, rear drum brake slave cylinders and all flexible brake hoses replaced with new stainless-steel braided hoses. Green stuff pads.

- New brake master cylinder.

- `Koni' front suspension telescopic damper kit with new front coil and rear leaf springs et al- utilising an MG Owners' Club kit - lowering the ride height to that of a chrome bumper `B'.

- `GKN' `LE' alloy wheels.

- Engine completely rebuilt, upgraded and converted to run on unleaded fuel.

- 1950cc Stage 2 tuned engine with:

1) Kent 717 fast road camshaft (280º duration & 103º lift).

2) Full polished and ported head (42ml capacity per cylinder)

- Carburettors upgraded commensurate with stage 2 engine and `K & N' air filters

- Stainless steel exhaust.

- Gearbox & overdrive reconditioned

- ‘Borg and Beck’ performance clutch with roller thrust bearing

- Remote door locking with immobiliser to Thatcham Category 2.

- Aluminium bonnet with sound deadening panel.

- Professional body restoration and respray 1998

Sold the car in April this year... miss taking it out at the weekend, real back to basics driving with the biggest grin factor I have had from any car
