A rear bumper with OE parking sensors inbuilt, is it easy to get them working?

Cheers all :D

There is a little bit more to it than that. There is a seperate controller which would need to got and wired in.

I thought it wouldnt be that easy, balls.

Just an idea. You could try using the OEM sensors with the genuine accessory parking kit. Hope you get what I mean?

Im not quite sure, any clues on cost?

I got my accessory parking sensor kit (BEA300001) from eBay for about £30. Dealer price is about £200 fitted I think! The kit is easy to fit yourself, instructions are included with it.

You could try cutting the sensors off the accessory kit and connect up the OEM ones in your bumper instead to the control unit. I really don't know if this would work though, its just an idea.

The pic shows the Fabia kit which has only three sensors.

Cheers, I appreciate the input.

I got my kit from the bay and it cost me £70 fitted in about an hour and half.

Easy as pie to do. Just get some scotch locks and you will be fine unless you have a fancy terminal tool

Well, I was thinking of changing my back bumper as it has a few scuffs, however Ive spotted one with OE sensors already on.

I've thought about doing this too. Getting an bumper with OEM sensors in and then sourcing the Skoda kit on eBay to wire them up to...

Just get the sensors fitted into your original bumpers you lot and stop being such babies :p

The gen kits fit in the black rubbing strip anyhow.

On the Mk1? Mine are in the painted bit, and body coloured.

If they were factory fitted then they were.

Plus on the estate you dont have a bump strip like on the hatch

I was thinking "yes I do"

But you're right

I know you can fit them in the rub strip, but will they sit flush like they do in the bumper?

how about instead of getting sensors you get a camera installed into the boot opener. would be way cooler and possibly cheaper

I'm not sure how it would work out cheaper?

I think the OEM reversing sensors are about £70 on eBay. If there's a way of doing the it all your way that would work out cheaper, I'd like to hear it!

Dan the sensors fit flush if fit them right just be careful with drilling the holes
