If you go to www.autobaza.pl and enter your VIN/Chassis number it will tell you all about your car . Clever ain't it :D

'Tips To Decoding your Car

Yep tiz tru , coilpacks are now just 19 quid odds inc vat , was told at my dealers today whilst picking my car up after having a coil replaced (with a second-hand H coil from a sales car). So how could they justify the old price?....smells like a VAG rip off to me!

VAG are saying the greatly reduced cost is due to a different manufacturer who charges a lot less, possibly true, also I guess VAG will be selling them at cost or less as the old price x4 was a lot & would generate even more negative publicity.

sounds like i made a shrewd sale then to ian ;)

Would have been a lot better , if you had bought for

true. true. :)

Howdy all,

Been away for a while and unable to peruse the site :(

I had another coil pack failure last Saturday, so I decided to come back here and see what's what (sorry to hear of your misfortune Duncan).

I've just noticed you sig Huck - when and why did the change happen???

Glad to be back, Mark

Thanx for the comments , tho I had it easy compared to some others who have lost a coil , I only had a 2 mile drive home , followed on the monday by a 1.5 mile drive to the dealer , and my car was done by the time i finished work (conveniently , on the opposite side of the street to my dealer!) My only hassle was i had to give up my sunday afternoon cruise in favour of Sky footie.....

hi mark, good to see you again!

changed the car at the end of jan. as i was getting itchy feet and wanted to try something different - the 330d had always appealed. :D

miss the old RS though............:(

Mine just dropped a b*ll*ck.{well a coil}

7100 miles, is it a record?

Steve

Just got the RS back from HL Austin. Talk about a quick turnaround- i got the AA to take the car down there and 2 hours later it was ready !Top marks! One new coil fitted ,one spare and i do believe they have 2 more for sale.

Anyone?

Steve

Nope, my dealer had one go at 450 on a demonstrator. Oh and another that went during PDI :D

I did hear of a Skoda worker from Prague who got a hernia pushing a car off the production line after a coil failure. I think his name was Hoody Nicka*******ov or err something like that.

:D
