Steels?

Featured Replies

I do. I use them with winter tyres in the supposedly cold months. They serve the purpose but the car looks dowdy, if slightly mean being black with black wheels.

Can you tell me what size wheels and tyres you are using in winter ? Do you know if the same wheels would fit the Fabia VRS on a 05 plate. I'm looking to do the same as you for the winter but struggling with what size steelies to get to take winter tyres.

Any suggestions welcome

Cheers

16" steels, like the spare wheel.

They're the same size as standard vRS, (205/45/16's or whatever they are). Standard vRS steel wheels (like your spare) and I use Toyo Snowprox tyres. Be aware though, If the weather warms up a bit (like it did last winter) I get significant torque steer. This year, being colder and more akin to what the tyres were designed for, things are much better.

I kept everything standard size because it was easier and I have was having rather a lot of warranty issues at the time so didn't want any excuse for Skoda to blow me out.

Thanks a lot for that - I should have thought about the spare but I was thinking in terms of having to go for a smaller wheel. Can you tell me where you go for the Toyo Snowprox. I did an internet search but seems to be all USA no UK.

Cheers

Got them of the 'net. One of the usual suspects (might have been etyres)

For sourcing the steels, also look at ones from the Bora. Lower models had 16" steels with hubcaps, so people may be upgrading etc...

Leave them black, makes it look like your trying even less for the ultimate sleeper effect

Thats my thought, street sleeper stylee, whilst using them for trackdays too!

Ive ordered some Toyo Proxes T1-S....

As per my earlier post... paint them matt black.. for that ultimate sleeper covered in brake dust look ;)

Hmmm...ill have a look what the satin looks like after a week or so, if not poss matt black!

Get them branded and use wider tyres

heheh

Banded pehaps?!

I was very keen on the Euro look, but not practical round here, too many bumps etc!

What did you pay for the T1-S a corner?
