Skoda Ipod Connection

Featured Replies

Hi i have decided to go for the Skoda ipod connector in my new fabia 3

has anyone got this at the moment, what can you tell me about it, the pros and cons

Hi, I have just had one fitted in my VRS, it works a treat, got to go back to the garage because of earthing trouble though. Mine is the skoda supplied one, fitted by my skoda garage as part of my purchase deal (first one they have fitted). It turns on when i turn the stereo on turns off when i take the key out (after a min or 2) but you have to set up play lists!!! 6 at the most 1-5 plays play lists 6 plays entire i pod.

sound is great but you cant see any song names etc on the head unit!

If anyone reading this knows what I have done wrong with mine please let me know, my i pod keeps playing random songs not whole albums/playlists etc, i have checked the instructions etc and the stereo is not on random , i set the ipod random selection to off but when i plug it in to the car it alters on its own. It used to be fine ???? strange.

I would recommend this system though !!!

Hope this is some help:thumbup:

why cant you see the songs, that part of the reason you get one of these sets,

can you control the songs from the radio, ue next song etc, and also do you have a maxidot computer in yours

Think all of this has been covered before, but...

...the song title are not displayed on the headunit (or at least the old fabia headunit is not 'id tag' compatible - new fabia maybe?)

...you only have control over the first 5 playlists on your ipod (buttons 1-5 on HU). Button 6 plays all track on the ipod, therefore Skumseeker (nice ;) ) use this button with 'shuffle' switched on, on the HU

pros;

charges ipod, some control over songs (forward, backwards, volume...), most HU functions work

cons;

expensive, limited ipod control, no id tags on HU

sure theres more... :)

Edit: Sumseeker: it seems I didn't read your post properly :o

Im pretty sure the 'Dance' stereo does show the ID of the song..... I stand to be corrected though , as I havent had the chance to use one yet.

got one of these for my vrs,they threw it in with the car,and i would have been upset f i had paid for it,it seems to be the slowest dimwitted conection i have ever seen,then it gets confused and freezes,it may just be mine,but it drives me nuts:rofl:

Help - my dealer seems to have no idea about the official ipod connection!

I've got a standard head unit in a Fabia vRS with no autochanger, if I use the Skoda ipod connection can you still use the CD player? If so, how do you select it over the ipod?

Thanks!

Hi guy's

my dealer has just had my vrs back again, i sorted the random playing out, re booted ipod ok now!!! trouble with earthing (hear whistle and fuel pump buzzing when engine is being reved) is this normal???? my local guy doesnt know???? first one they have fitted!!!!

on low volume it sounds ok!!

I have the same problem using the cd or ipod, i don't know the soulution exactly but when using the ipod just press cd and it reverts to cd, but to go back to ipod you have to eject cd, then you can insert but have to disconnect ipod then reconnect ipod!!!! bit of a pain.

My vrs is only 1 month old, been back to the garage 3 times for stutter ,vibration, ipod, etc, is this the norm or have i been unlucky???? seems on here that i'm not alone!!! I am thinking of having a remap done !!

is any system better than another??? i have been offered 163hp for £280 (ex vat, channel islands) or he will take it to 190hp if i want???? i want a bit more umphhhhh but don't want to through fuel away, i will be doing about 25000 miles pa. you guys seem to know all that needs to be known, any ideas?????

The one in my brand new Fabia doesn't - and the sound quality is appalling.

It's going back to the dealers to see if they can resolve these two issues.

If not, I'll be instructing them to remove it and demanding a refund. So far as I am concerned, the product in my Fabia is not of mechandable quality.

It's going back to the dealers to see if they can resolve these two issues.

In the end, the dealer installed a Parrot MKi9200 to replace the Skoda supplied Bluetooth and Dension ipod adaptor as the two products (both from the Skoda accessories catalogue) didn't want to work together.

The Parrot unit is great - good interface, good sound quality and loads more. I'd recommend one to anyone who needs good quality audio and phone interfaces.
