Whiteline ARB

Featured Replies

Bit of a numpty question I'm afraid - I'm considering getting the whiteline ARB on my Octavia VRS and was just wondering if it's a replacement for an existing ARB or if the VRS just doesn't have one on the rear to start off with?

Also for those who've fitted one - what's involved, and is it particularly difficult?

It didnt have one as standard. Pretty easy to fit, 2 people would make it easier. Probably take half an hour or so?

Thanks Liverpool Lad. Think I'll get one after I've had the car remapped.

Good move, after those 2 mods you should be a much happier owner!

if you can get a mate to help you with it.

Easy enough job to do but its even easier when there is two of you

If you do it on your own, I would advise connecting each end to the shock absorber mounts before mounting the centre of the bar on the rear beam.

Hi re arb

If you search on the forun under rear arb fitting pics you will find a pictorial guide that i had fun doing when i fitted mine or search for posts by whoosh

Just ordered one - can't wait for it to arrive!

Had a look at your installation pics Whoosh, I think they'll come in pretty useful for the fitting.

Dont forget to grease your bushes!

Cheers Liverpool Lad - what type do you use? Will petroleum jelly do (SWMBO has some in the bathroom cabinet) or do I need some specific grease?

You get a sachet with the kit itself :)

Cool. Final question I promise - when installing and I have the car jacked up should the wheel be off the floor or will the swingarm drop when I undo the bolt at the bottom of the shock absorber?

It will, so take the load off the axle with some chocks so the car is still jacked but the wheels are supported, and the load can be taken off the shock nut to allow fitment of the spacer bracket you get with the kit.
