porsche wheels on a vrs

Featured Replies

ok i have seen some porsche rims on a fabia,my question is how is this achieved?I have come across some that i like and wondeed how to make them fit.

think the fabia i saw them on was shaun l's at the awesome rolling road meet, and i fancy some on mine, failing that i have seen some m3 rims on a vw bora, and i fancy those too, what would be the easyest to get on?

It can be done, with hub adaptors. Basically its an ally block which bolts to the 5x100 fabia hubs and then the pourshe rims bolt to that.

Personally i wouldnt bother as it may cause more balancing problems than it gains asthetically.

The M3 rims will more than likely be replica ones. Most of the replica ones i have seen are made from cheese and the first bump they hit makes them oval wheels.

If you could get some geniune ones i think they would bolt straight on. They are 5x100 but not sure of the center bore and ET. I'll look up the specs when i am in work tomorrow.

Best thing to do if your going for all out performance is to get the lightest strongest wheels money can buy.

Id be looking at o.z ultraleggrers as they are light yet incredibly strong. Or maybe something like the pro race wheels from team dynamics.

Hope this helps mate

As has already been said its basicly a hub adapator. Most the Porsche wheels to fit the Fabia are an ET52 and 25mm adaptors are normally used.

Happy to answer any more questions you have

josh aka josh_polo_gti from here had Porsche wheels on his Fabia, perhaps ask him if it worked out ok.

Any pics?

there was one a while ago on pistonheads which polisehed porsche 944 rims and they looked great

Yeh, just adapters.

Mind you everyone i know with them, when they have removed there wheels the adapters have been suprisingly loose, not for me!

I really fancy a set for the fab - What ET is the fabia by the way?

et depends on rim width.

should be et 38 on a 17x7 iirc

those m3 rims were alledgedly the real thing and not the normal cheese ones,i may be veering towards a little bit of show to match the copius amounts of go,am i going soft?why does it need to look good? i don't know myself,bt i keep seeing vag cars all smoothed and wearing tasty wheels, interiors and fancy paint,i do fancy some rs4 seats tho,i have a feeling they could be very exensive tho :D

Here's a pic i found on here of Josh's fabia with Porsche rims....... I think when he sold the car he had a clear out and anything he posted on here with pics seems to have gone.....

that looks good

Thanks oilburninnut. :)

If you want any info on fitting Porsche rims to your Fabia feel free to PM me, I'm more than happy to help. :)

One thing to bear in mind is that by them time you buy some Porsche rims, the adapters, get the wheels refurbed (highly likely depending on their condition!) and get some decent rubber on there you're probably looking at a grand or so... The M3 replicas would cost a fair wedge less cash than that...!

i am not bothered about cost,i am bothered about performance,my car is growing in spec by the day,i like fast, but just recently have had an oerwhelming feeling to spend cash on looking good, porsche rims,to be more specific the boxter s rims are really catching my eye, don't know wheather i wil take the plunge yet,i just wanted to know how it was achieved:thumbup:

I like the Boxster S rims, I think they'd look top. :)
