Has anyone had more problems than me?

Featured Replies

Hi there, I own a mica black fabia 1.4Mpi and I think it's the greatest lokking ride in it's class.

I bought it new and now it's 6 years old with 55k miles. It has been a love hate relationship( I love it but it hates me:mad:)

So far this has been wrong with it :

-rpm sensor replaced

-fuel tank replaced

-steeringwheel angle sensor replaced

-rpm sensor replaced

-glove box door replaced

-antenna replaced

-fuel injector replaced

-thermostat replaced

-electicwindow system wire, driverdoor replaced

-radiator fan repaired

at the moment it has a leaking coolant problem, which they have problems finding, already replaced the gasket on the temp sensor

I'm sure i've forgotten some of it, non the less it's alot, some of the work was in garantee though.

I have had this list of faults

Gearbox rebuilt

Clutch replaced

Flywheel replaced

Middle brake light unit

2 new wheel bearings

Abs wiring repaired

All under warranty thank god

Ongoing problems

Recirculation button wont or occasionaly turns recirc flap on when pressed

Console bushes maybe on way out

Summary - After owning 8 vw's this is the worst car I have had from th VAG stable, the most reliable car I have ever owned was a 94 Mondeo diesel!

on my first fabia i had thousands of faults, they ended up replacing it at 11months old

Ive had a new steering rack (£677) , new suspension bushes and a coil spring (£296) and a new temp sender (under used car warranty). I didnt buy the car untill it was 5 yrs old/29000 miles on it though , so maybe the 1st owner had some problems done under the new car warranty.

djeesh, I'm happy i'm not the only one. I'm a bit fed up with my car, the thing is I would buy an other fabia without thinking.

My brother (the car mechanic) says to me to buy a vw polo. A well first wait and see what this coolant problem is.

I love the fabia, hate the new one though.:thumbdwn:

The only problems with mine have been my own doing. :):o

Generally, it has been very reliable. Worst that comes to mind was a snapped clutch pedal, but mine was an older gen pedal which was inherently weaker, so replaced it with the updated one. :)
