squeaky DS2500s - I was warned.

Featured Replies

I think the DS2500s are bedded in now. They squeak at the slightest hint of brake pedal contact, and only cease squeaking if I either stop on a sixpence or don't brake! :D I was warned about this and prepared for it, but not for it being ot this degree. haha! I'm getting all kinds of looks from pedestrians etc, probably all thinking "why doesn't he get some new pads? Those have clearly totally worn out!" When I've just shelled out

Have the same 'issue'. Always end up looking around me to see what scrappy old car is making that noise before I realise it is coming from mine :D

Strangely enough they didnt do it at all on saturday...

No they only do it under light braking

Light braking, what's that then? :D

It's what you do when you're driving subtly, not being a hooligan :D

Not so bad once warmed up, but :o around town!

DS3000s anyone? :D

DS3000s anyone? :D

Not unless you like using a grinder to clean your alloys ;)

Could that be something to do with them being nice and warm all day ;)

DS3000s squeal worse than that guy in Deliverance! :D

Braking performance makes the 2500s feel like they aren't going to stop you. Rather like hitting a concrete wall :D

The dust will wreck your alloys and disk wear is very high. The metal filings from them will also "stick" or rather weld itself to your paintwork.

It can be cured, Firstly try copper Grease on the back of the pads, If that dosent work then you can get some sticky pads to go on the back of the Pad, not sure who makes them, I got mine from Ian Godney.

agree with stuart copper grease will quiet them.... nothign works on 3000's they just squeak!

I find that it's the brakes way of telling me I need to go out for a drive on a nice country road....copper gunk might be cheaper in the long run ;)
