Help with a Ford Focus mk2

Featured Replies

Dad has one as a hire car while his Oct'y his having some body work done.

We have a problem

The middle part of the dash in between the dials ( like a maxi dot screen ) seems to stay illuminated when all the lights are turned off and keys taken out and the doors locked

So the car at the moment is sitting in darkness, apart from a glowing green screen on the dash.

How do we turn it off  as there is no handbook?

Thanks.

Alright mate,

As a ex focus owner (mark 1) I know a wee bit of the knowledge of the mark 2.

This is a feature and I can assure you this will dim out but can't think how long this will take.

To me it is quite stupid as it looks like you have left the radio or the dials on.

Let me know how you get on.

Davy

A friends Fiesta does the same thing, he says it goes out eventually. Don't know why it won't go out straight away when you lock the doors.

Yeah it does go off on it's own eventually... I wouldn't worry about it :)

Well it went out after about an hour last night,

Thanks for the answers

it is normal , Ford changed the spec of the audio unit on Fiesta and Focus , didn't bother to tell anybody , inc the technicians never mind the punters driving them , we still get people bringing their cars in and complaining about it
