Easy "fix" for car pulling to left? - plz discuss

Featured Replies

I'm not seeing that either of the links explain how it can happen, just stating it can. It also only states on "some" fwd cars.

I just don't ge the physics behind it as bending a chuffing great steel bar/tube requires a lot of force. If it bent that easily and emergency stop would probably bend it or snap it in half.

I just think that article is a bit odd and is like saying the wings can fall off some jet planes.

Will try to arrange a detailed checkup with a specialist alignment place next week. Will have them check bushings, bearings...

On the laser 4WA place I went to last week - 3 wheel in spec, but the Left rear was closer to the front, canted over and forwards. Well out of spec.

It appears that the rear axle bar is bent, and (AFAIK) no history of any kerbing or anything else.

I admit - I am confused and want to get this sorted...

Thanks for everyone's input!

I'm interested in following this thread. My vRS - (180bhp chipped, otherwise standard setup) has exactly the same problem - pulls left (a lot)!

I have had it laser aligned 4 times now and its still there.

I've asked Skoda and they replied that "its designed to do this in case you fall asleep on the motorway"..... WTF - you've got to laugh. That's true corporate bull - I'd happily do without this 'feature'.

There is definetly a problem here - and reading on the internet and also here from your comments it would point to either the:

- tyres

- bushes

- other alignment settings toe in etc

- or more worryingly the rear axle...?

If anyone does find a solution please post it.

Finally though, is it right for Skoda to produce a car that pulls left - surely this isn't acceptable for safety reasons?

I'd really like my vRS to go in a straight line (occasionally)... as this is ruining my enjoyment of what is an otherwise excellent car.

...try driving on the wrong side or bang in the middle of the road and see what happens.

DOH! He'll get fecken killed or arrested is what'll happen
