Hi --from China & KEY PROGRAMMING QUESTION

Featured Replies

Hi, everyone!

I am from China.

SKODA introduced the Octavia series into China this year, and I purchased a 1.8TSI not long ago.

Now I am quite interested and curious about KEY programing, actually, I am looking forward to making a key by myself, but it is ONE STEP away, and would like to try to find guidance here!

Below is how far I've gone:

I've got the USB adaptor, VAS 5053 dia software, a raw key.

I've already programmed the key to open and lock the doors, and cut the key slot so it can open and lock the doors.

But now I am stuck at the last step -- to start the engine.

The problem is that, it seems that password is needed to enter the function of the VAS system to program the key so it can start the engine. Only 4S shops have this pwd, and it is not likely that they will provide this to me.

In this case, is there any way to program a fully functional key by myself?

Thanks a lot for any helpful info in advance and sorry for my humber Eng.

Hi and welcome:thumbup:

Don't worry about your English, it beats mine and it beats a lot of the native Brits' too!

If you don't get an answer here, post your question in the Octavia section of the forum.

Welcome

What you'll need is what's called the 4 digit security key code (SKC) for the immobilisor contained within your dashpod.

Normally with a new car this is provided on a plastic key tag given with the keys.

Welcome :)

Thanks so much for your warm welcome and information!

To clearify sth:

Hoestly, the guy who trying to make the key by himself now is not me, but a friend of mine.

In order to put things simple, I used "I" when posting the question.

Anyway, if he succeeds, I may follow up.

Welcome!:)
