Hello From Skoda First Timer

Featured Replies

Hello fellow skoda jockeys. Have just joined your forum after purchasing a 2005 Octavia 1.9 TD estate , and what a very nice car it is turning out to be.However, the lower centre instrument lights do not seem to be operating ( the ones that light up the air blower controls, air direction and fan controls). How does the plastic trim come off around the radio /CD. There is a storage compartment below the radio/CD which if I could get out would allow me access to the instrument bulbs I presume.I've had a good bend and pull at the storage compartment but it doesn't seem to want to come off, and I don't like to use too much force in case I break the thing!!Any ideas??

Many Thanks, Steve.

Welcome :)

I don't know about the Octavia but on the Fabia you have to pull the stereo out to get the storage compartment free.

Hiya.

I think you're on the right lines, and need stereo removal keys to shift the head unit, so you can remove the cubby and get at the failed bulbs. Certainly on the Elegance (and I presume L&K) it's like the Blackpool Illuminations when you turn the lights on and all the switchgear and LCD panels light up together!

Hello and welcome.
