Standard VRS Boost presssure

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me what maximum boost pressure is on a standard Fabia VRS.

Thanks in advance. :)

Mine (BLT motor) goes up to 1.4 bar.

1.35 bar on the asz i think

which is the newer engine the ASZ or BLT

Resurrecting an old thread here.

Hypothetically speaking if someone had a remap and was going WOT up a hill and their ScanGauge shows 38psi would that be normal?

38psi is over 2.5 bar:eek:thats quite a lot

Thats not normal,

As said above my fabia runs 1.3 bar boost standard and 1.7bar boost mapped.

38psi is rediculous

my custom code is running 1.5 bar as per their technician it is not an agresive map supposidly

That's what I thought. Do I have to subtract the 14.7 psi of normal atmospheric pressure to get the actual boost pressure?

Yup you do. I had this chat with Jabba when they made me some boost logs, I was initially baffled to see my Furby boosting at over 2 Bar, then I relised I had to minus 1 Bar of atmospheric pressure on all readings to get the true value...or more to the point the useful value.

EDIT - Its also important to note I guess that this is one reason the Furbys ECU, along with alot of ECU's have a Barometer in them...or a device for measuring atmospheric pressure, as of course when you go up or down hills, or the weather changes and the atmospheric pressure changes then the ECU needs to alter the required and supplied boost...albeit very, very slightly. Just to ensure smooth running and fuel detonation.

Makes more sense now. Thanks!

when I first fitted my boost gauge I noticed that it went off the scale to 2.9 Bar - couple of anxious emails later I found out that was normal....

I just fitted a gauge to mine and it hits 25 psi on full boost, does this mean my car has probably been mapped before i baught it ?

Yes I would say so.
