A lot of useful information in this report if you do some chasing around it

I see those Vredstein ones came out well. There was a show with them at GTi International this year where a few of us were pretty impressed and I know one member who's been trying to buy them without much success - Bit of a shame really.

These people are dealers for Vredstein tyres. http://www.roadwheel.co.uk/

for those of you interested.

Chris was trying to get some but I don't think it was successful

That tyre guide thing is actually quite good.

Will re-read later as I just came off the night shift and need sleep.

No surprise there - I've been using these tests for a while and have had two sets of Vredestiens on the Fabia and the Goodyears on the Mazda - Both were/are very good.

I'm always skeptical of these tests as different cars have different characteristics and individuals drive differently, etc, so I'll have a thorough read later. I was surprised to see the Toyo's in position 6 however

Chris

Shame they don't test the Falken FK452 too :(

I've never rated the Auto Express test because they always print comparitive ratings, rather than actual performance. I see that's not changed any.

But compare them against the german magazine tyre tests for example and you get similar rankings.

So they perform the same tests and get the same results?

Chris

Also bear in mind that different tyres suit different vehicles. The Continentals (which came 3rd) are pretty rubbish on the Octy MK1 (where they were standard fit) when compared to the Toyo/GSD3/Falken 452

so how much are these tyres? expensive?

That's an interesting read, but still doesn't really help me decide on my next tyre.

The Bridgestones I have now are pretty loud, don't last particularly well but have stunning grip in the dry. I'm still tempted by the Falkens from what I've read.

Do it , just make sure you have time to scrub them in what with it being wet at this time of year.

They shift water well and I'd use either them or if conditions were suitably cold winter tyres.

Fit one each of the top five tyres and get the best of all worlds ;)

Change your tyres like you change your shoes, buy a different pair each time you need new ones :D
