Which is the best induction kit

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am thinking about buying a induction kit for my Mk1 Octavia vRS but I am unsure as to which one to buy, any ideas will be appreciated ?

Hi mate a lot of people go for the Carbonio C.A.I or Cold Air Induction kit. I have that on mine and it makes a lovely noise. Awesome GTI do it and it is around £180 if i remember correctly?

Thanks for that, is it a straight forward fit & did you have to have your car tuned after you fit it ?

I have a Carbonio, lovely noise. Easy to fit, but I had Awesome GTI do it.

I got an Injen RD CAI from the states. awesome sound. and easy for a novice diy'er to fit

Oh oh oh

I have to agree with the Carbonio mmmmm

They sound excellent and will improve throttle response too  from me

If Injen are making cold air kits for the Skoda, then that's what I would go for.

That, and then second best for me would be the ABD racing intake.

General rule of thumb is any upgrade filter will make a really nice deep noise (sounds nice on any car, but I'm un-sure the exact out come on a octy).

As for performance gains depends on the brand. Any BHP gains quoted usually are not met with out other mods and depends on car to car and the driver. Best bet is to buy a branded unit, like the guys above have listed.

Most air filters are an easy DIY fit, if you have some knowledge of DIY then you could prob fit it. As above not sure about octy but my current civic was a case of 4 bolts and 2 pipe clamps (one holding the air filter on and one at the other end holding the pipe on to the inlet manifold).

Hope this helps

if they are making one look at the Pipercross Viper cold air feed. Had these on the Civic Type R and the 1.8T Bug and they are great piece of kits. Even went to pipercross direct to get it fitted as per their rally car set up - sounds awesome too

Try this one for size. ABD Racing.

So, If I take advanced driving lessons I'll get more BHP? :D:P

Most of the kits i would think are quite easy to fit. I have the Pipercross Velocity C.A.I which was not hard to fit.

Agree with others they do make a great sound.

Drop in high flow panel filter and pikey air box mod, about £40. Just as good, power wise and a bit more noise. Job done.

the injen is made for the golf 1.8t. straight fit. looks awesome

I'll second this!!!

Get a universal K&N/Green filter to go on it though as there is loads of space behind the bumper!!

The standard filter supplied with the ABD intake pipe is only 6" long x 4" wide.

carbonio for me. had it fitted, with forge 007 D.V. really nice sound--had awesome fit it as i was up there (got a free trial remap too!!!)

Whats the pikey box mod? I assume its just drilling a series of holes in air box cover?

I don't think so, I think it's more along the lines of removing the fins inside the air box to ease the flow of air and fitting a larg diameter peice of ductwork down to the front arch for a good air supply.

Could someone please explain this for me.

I'm a bit of a novice, but would like to do this mod to my octy vRS mk1.

Anybody got any pics of the finished article, or could jot down a quick step by step guide for the lamen!

Cheers.

I'm using an EVOMS CAI on mine.

Nice noise from it, if i was ever a bit more flush though, i'd swap for a Carbonio. :)
