On the mondy/Laguna thing

Despite being Focus/Golf sized, many choose the Octavia over the Mondy and Laguna. It's similarly sized, and categorised on many company car lists.

So are Skoda firmly saying that the Superb is actually in 806 (former Granada/scorpio) territory?

If as I suspect they are, then either the Octy covers both family, and med (focus, astra etc) groups or shares the med group with the fabia.

The side profile of the estate is just a Passat... :(

Those are photoshops so don't worry :)

Spoilsport!

Just because the reflections in the estate and the hatch/saloon are identical mirror images of each other doesn't mean they're not real!

Its seems to me the rear is smaller then the existing superb.

Just look at the lenght of the rear door and u will know it is smaller.

I know what you mean, yet the reports say that the new car has even more passenger room than the old car  Unless they mean it is wider with more headroom........

From what I've seem so far, Skoda seem to have made the front doors bigger this time rather than have the enormous rear ones again to give it a more balanced look at the B pillar, I won't be getting one though, even though I would like one, I don't like the Skoda attitude when it comes to fixing the cars, oh and the latest little poor quality item to show itself is the push select button for the autobox is flapping around on mine now, it's only the chrome cover as the switch still works, but IU can't see how to get it back on tight again and fear it will mean a whole new shift stick some time soon.

I agree re; the Skoda attitude, although I have to say it is my concern on the dealerships ability to mend the cars that will probably drive my next car purchase towards a Mondeo (2nd hand low mileage ones of the new style should be surfacing soon).

I do feel that the Skoda dealers I have experienced, don't seem to know how to deal with problems in the car - I have been driving around in my 2.5tdi Superb with the pollen filter problem /water in car footwells - 3 of them! - for the past 18 months and I dare not take it in for repair - I think it would take them about 6 visits to get properly and comprehensively mended,at a cost that would launch a bid to land on Mars.

The lack of interior lights is a bummer in these dark nights but I carry a small Maglite - ridiculous really......don't know what I shall use when the headlights go again - maybe a VERY large Maglite or two held out in front of me as I drive with my nose....

Perhaps I am being unfair, but I just get the impression they don't seem to know what to do with anything that is slightly off centre in terms of problems/issues that may crop up.

I had a look at the new Mondeo and it certainly has better rear footwell space for the growing boys than the previous Mondeo ever did (and a key reason for me buying the 2.5 Superb).

Has anyone had a good experience in getting the blocked plennum etc issue sorted at a dealer?

Regards

Mike

As for a good dealer I have had no problems with mine "Vindis" of Woolpit, however had horendous dealings with Barkers of GRimsby when I lived there they were con merchants and fraudsters, their trick was to reset all service intervals to 10000 so as to reap the benefits they were caught out fitting none standard parts to mine but charging for VAG group parts, this came to light when one failed cblowing the engine up oops.

As for the water problem it is a fairly wasy job try it your self.
