You are right, it is not €2 for every £1, but with Irelands higher taxing on cars it is generally a good rough guide to work on.

I thought Skoda sold on the premis of "More car for your money". The old Superb sold well because you got more car than a Passat for less money, if the new car tries to sell for higher prices than the Passat, never mind the Mondy/Laguna/Mazda, I think people will start to remember the old badge snobery against Skoda. The Superb is ment as a better value version of the Passat, no one is going to honestly start thinking of it as a "posher" car than one with a VW badge on it

Isn't this indicative of skoda's strategy? the mk2s (oct/fab) may be better cars but it looks like prices have moved up. Are they still as good value for money?

Like the new superb btw. As long as Skoda don't price it too far out it will be on the list for my next car.

It looks like it has them but I am confident it doesn't......there is a PO (Side Light) function in the top left pocket, so I think they have a bezel which looks like Angel Eye's but isn't......

Don't forget Skoda can still offer "more car for the money" even if some models are more expensive than equivalent VW or any other brand for that matter.

Some versions of the current Superb are more expensive than some Passats but you get more kit and space. That should be the same on the new Superb and from what I have seen the interior looks classier than the VW too.

I think for a number of years now Skoda have been about value for money rather than just 'cheapness'

No mate, the top left pocket has a PO bulb for position......

The 'Cornering' function will be achieved by the 'module' moving from left to right, as you can see that there is clear adjustment range around the module......

I like the way the headlight washer is integrated into the look of the whole unit - very swish.

Slightly off-topic but I watched Clarksons roadtest of the VW Phaeton (spelling?) the other day and the headlight washers fire one lamp, then gap, then second lamp so you don't get so much of light loss in the dark. Neat.
