5 Series BMW............?!?!?!

Looks mean, almost 6 series ish...

Not sure I like it yet though.

I want one, me me me me me....

Shame it will probably cost twice as much as the current one and will probably (although I hope not) be a rebadged passat with a few tweaks. The extra length, extra toys etc are probably gone lol

i like that... ;)

Would have to see more pics but it looks agressive from the front

You beat me to it!!!!!

It does look BMWish with a hint of Passat

I quite like it. Wil ave to see what it's like when it hits the road. No Saloon though.

I like what I see, still wondering what the rear end will look like and as with all cars the acid test will be when you see one for real. There is a danger that once in the flesh it will look like a beached whale on wheels.

It looks huge on the test photos but they say this is the first Skoda under VW ownership.

It uses VW bits but has it's own structure and suspension

I'm looking forward to see how this fares up.

1.4 sounds odd, but even with the super charged turbo arrangement, I can't help feeling that you need a bit of capacity in a car this size. As the article says the TDis are the ones to go for and any one buying a petrol probably needs to see head doctor!!!

Eh? The Fabia was based on a Polo, Octavia on the Golf (twice), so how can this be the first car under VW???

I think id trade my fabia VRS in for that in black, looks like a BEAST!!!

Over here

The Fabias have both been designed on the Polo

The Octavia on the Golf

And the Superb 1 was the old Passat on a longer chassis.

I think what the article meanss is that this is a wholly Skoda design and chassis despite having VW bits.

Thats what makes it exciting.

It does look good from the front.

It must be a fair bit bigger than the current car if it's got even more passenger space.

One of the only gripes I've got with the current Superb is the fact that the opening aperture of the boot restricts the size of stuff you can get in it. With this being a hatch/saloon hybrid, it should be far more accessible.

The 2.0T may be interesting - wonder if that's the same as the one that's in the vRS Octy??? Woudln't mind the 2.7 TDi.

Look forward to seeing it in the flesh.

Cant wait to see the estate. :D

Can't wait till it is released. My current superb elegance will of ticked over the 200k mark by then. Already planning a 2.7tdi as a replacement and will just not look at the fuel bill each week, £250 a week is enough as it is!!

Ben.

Yep.... I'm nursing a semi!

A big dollop of BMW inspiration from where I'm sitting too - it's those crease lines, and cuts from wing/bonnet/bumper. Light design too. But can we see the rest of it? :)

Steve

clearly says on Autocar that prices are likely to be £15,000 -----> £23,000

That puts it at €30,000 ---> €46,000 :thumbdwn: - Mondy - mazda6 - Laguna all cheaper than that

Less than that. The £ is not worth twice as much as a €.
