Adjustable Headlights

Featured Replies

I noticed this lastnight when i was parking the car up against the garage door..

But, my driver side headlight is constantly adjusting itself.

If i turn the engine off, you can hear the motor moving it up and down.

Is it a new lamp job ?

Or can the mechanism be replaced ?

Not a serious problem or anything, just annoying.

:)

pretty sure the mechanism is part of the lights. Some people on here have found that the mechanism gets stuck (probably through lack of use, but yours is more likely to wear out through toooo much use!)

Did you ever get this fixed Johnny?

one of mine seems to keep adjusting until it eventually settles out. The other is dead :thumbdwn:

I have had a look in ETKA and cannot find the part which looks like the motor.

The motor has 0307 853 303 on the side but nothing seems to match.

Nope.

I was in hospital over Xmas and new Year so i've only started using the car again this week.

Hoping to get a peek at the weekend.

It is still doing it though. :(

Keep an update as mine is doing the same:thumbdwn:)

As in take out the cluster and spray the mechanism where the bulb you would in.

I have had the cluster out before but it was a while back.

Sorry to bother you on this again Mart:O

No i just used a wd40 spray extension tube which came with the can, point at the motor gaps and spray.

Its worth a try at the end of the day the motor would be knackered anyway.

Mine still works fine by the way:)

Right I had the light cluster out earlier (nearly took my finger off whilst doing it)

Both lights are grinding away and not moving when main beam is on. So I opened up the mechannism and the motor is just constantly winding and doesn't seem to be doing much else. If I move the switch either may move a little then stop or not move at all. So I think its time for new motors all round.

So Martin my question to you is how the fook do you get the motor arm (white)out of the (black) bit that pulls the light back. And where does the the unit wires go, the ones that dissappear into the clusters

Well, you have to undo the 2 you can get to easily then pull the motor back and twist to the side. Then you should be able to undo the last one and the motor will come out.

You just unclip the wires that go into the back of the light motor. They just pull straight out, ready for the new one.

Yours sound just like my old one before the wd40 ( which worked a treat)

Doh ..........I got you when you get the motor out the wires clip into that.

I couldn't get motor out to see, so theres a third screw then. That will be why :thumbup::thumbup:

Nice one fella
