Lock Windows with one button press!?

Featured Replies

Is there any way to do this on the octavia? I've searched the forums, found lots of threads, but no definitive answer...I know you can hold the button down, but is there a way to set it so that it closes all windows on the single press of the lock button on the fob?

Any info welcome!

Nope, you have to hold the button down. Its a safety thing, in that you are in control and can stop it if something is trapped in the window.

All of my previous cars (including VW's) had aftermarket alarm and single button touch windows closure. Octy is the first one that came with factory alarm and I have to hold the button to close the windows. Ford is the same (as the rest of VAG). I could never get used to it so I always close windows before turning the engine off. I don't like it, would be hapy if it did with one touch.

There is the other problem as well. Engine is running, you press auto window closing on the door button and if you turn off the engine before windows are closed, they simply stop. So, auto mode windows closing is dissabled by turning the engine off. This bothers me as well. My company's Megane has auto function running even if you turn off the engine.

So, there I am in my Octy sitting in the car with engine running, waiting for windows to close on auto function.

Now, I don't use the remote windows closing because I got used to one touch closing on my previous cars that in beginning I locked and left my car many times with windows open.

:thumbdwn:

It's a safety and security feature. If it was one touch you would press said button and walk away, if one of the anti pinch devices kicked in you would have one window left open while you are off shopping, bye bye anything of value in your car.

As said it also keeps you in control of the windows as well.

Is not like it takes all that long to do anyway ?

As bosjno said, it's what you're used to...I had a megane and one touch closure was really good. Oh well...

Is there anyway i can get my windows to close without my Engine running as it gets really anoying wating for them when im in a rush usually for work and close with the key held down. i have a fabia vrs with 55 plates

Why not close the windows before you park up if you are in a rush? So they will be closi during the final few yards of your journey...

Yes, it's possible. I've just enabled it on mine. It has to be done with VagCom. So, you press the lock button on your remote and wait for windows to start closing. As soon as they start, you can let the button go and walk away. They'll close by themselves (and sunroof as well if you have one). It's two seconds of holding lock button before they start closing.

It has some things about windows closing and maybe some other usefull stuff.

That wont work on a fabia as it doesnt have total closure.

We are in Octavia2 forum and my answer was for Octavia2 owners, as suggested in the first post in this thread.

But your answer was in response to someone who said he had a Fabia vRS - hence the confusion!

There was this box you plugged in the OBD and reprogrammed the OB computer to lift the windows with the locking of the doors, and the engine off. Could only be used to program/deprogram one car only, via a clever limitation.

Saw this on the RO forum as a link to a German site a while ago.

you could always use the aircon, I know fuels expensive, however you will create more drag with the windows open.

Never mind the shutting windows, look out for finding your windows open in the rain

after the open button gets stuck :(

If you have rain sensing, activate rain closure, lock the car, then cover the sensor quickly.

A nice cheat ;)
