Pulling away VRs FAB

Featured Replies

When pulling away in first gear does anyone notice a flat spot in the revs where the car momentarily hesitates, think this is just at the point where the turbo starts to spin up. The other gears are fine, this occurs just as the car starts rolling, and no before you ask it's not my driving :)

I'm looking at a remap anyway and I'm guessing that this should smooth out this flat spot and give me a nice even spread of torque throughout the rev range etc......

Try switching off the ASR - it seems to help and keep the revs up for a quicker get-away.

Like Martin says it helps to keep the revs up otherwise they plummet and you lose the power.

True... ASR light doesnt always flash when its spoiling your fun :D

now its drier and me being more stressed from work i switch it off alot more... getting the hang of decent "stealth" starts too... not revving nuts off, but giving it a decent burst of power off the line :D

Try pulling away in second by giving it a bootful and dropping the clutch a bit smartly.First gear seems too low to me.

Is that a clutch i can smell burning?

The standard clutch struggles to cope during day to day on a remapped car... id rather not abuse it... besides using first makes the challenging car look like its got a chance
