G60 Helix clutch or Neuspeed N2? Advice please.

Featured Replies

:OI 'm not sure if I'm breaking rules but I've also posted this query in Freedom Tech. Sorry if I am!

:(The G60 Helix set-up I bought nearly new, (good deal - thanks mate!) off a fellow 4x4 enthusiast well known to this forum in about Feb. '06 expired last night after coping brilliantly with being hammered all this time. My wife says she just heard a loud bang and the car filled with clutch smoke after attempting to pull away fast at a busy junction. She was definately in first or third gear. It was briefly possible to find a bite with the pedal nearly fully returned, but then no bite and no pedal return - it even gave up smoking.

:confused:I've been quite happy with the operation of the Helix G60 but now I'm a little concerned about longevity (I drive quite hard but hoped this clutch would be up to it for longer). I've seen an alternative set-up advertised by Awesome; the Neuspeed N2 Sports Clutch Kit. As I'm sure the current one is kaput, can anyone suggest how this might fair as a replacement or even suggest other alternatives?

I drive a 51 reg. Octy 1 4x4 1.8 T estate. 23mm VAG front ARB. Koni dampers. H & R springs. VAG steel sump guard. Powerflex bushes and mount. Haldex Performance Upgrade. VAG 312mm front brakes ( Mintex cross-drilled disks & Pagid pads front and rear). Forge D.V. Green Cotton filter. Custom Code.:)
