i hand clean and once a month if the weather is good i clay and meg 3step the car, paint cleaner, polish then wax looks real good when finished

Actually VAG paint is very hard, that's why it chips easily.

Most pro. detailers hate VAG paint because with it being so hard, the swirlmarks and small scratches are a sod to polish out.

You can actually mark the paint with a fingernail on my car, it's that easy. But the paint is that soft I find polishing out the marks is just as easy. I think the problem is that it's thin....my 13 year old BMW's paint job was much more rugged. Far more layers of paint on there.

Even the SWMBO's Pug is more resistant to marking than mine. Feels like watercolours sometimes on the Furby....

They need to use paint like on the old Mercs. Not sure if it's true but I once heard the full paint job on an old Merc SL used to weigh around 75kg in all. :eek:

Probably enamel or something, like on a bathtub.... :D
