Could someone please recommend the best place (not necessarily the cheapest) to get a cambelt changed on a 2.0 TDi Octavia (mk2) in either WIRRAL or NOTTINGHAM. I have asked the dealers and whilst I am sure they are very good, they are also very expensive.

Check with Alex Lawrie who are by Liverpool Town centre, they charged me £280 all in for cambelt/tensioners and a waterpump which wasnt much more than a VW specialist.

Agree. Just had mine done minus the water pump plus a 60K service on my fabia. Came to £500.

Go to Awesome, they apparently are one of the most reliable in that area!

I used TSL MOTORSPORT | Subaru Mitsubishi Classics | performance tuning | parts | repair | servicing | UK when I had my Scooby and to give you an idea of how good they were, it was a 2 and a bit hour drive each way . Checking their web site they now also list specialising in VAG cars too so might be worth a ring.

Excellent service, the cleanest workshop I've ever seen, and decent prices too .... just stay away from the shiny stuff on display
