Cartech mobile re-mapping. Anyone used 'em

Featured Replies

Well, if they are claiming undetectable, then they are lying. All remaps can be detected, and quiet easily with the right equipment.

From that list of supported cars id say hes using old technology, as no edc16 ecus supported.

If this is the case i have the same hardware and contacts to the same job and i am just your average DIYer.

And his prices are very expensive tbh for a genric map.

I would be tempted to look at places like awesome or jabba for maps.

Or i have heard good things about john @ DNA tuning

hope this helps

john

Elsewhere on the site its says....

Will the work affect my vehicle's warranty?

Remapping is invisible. We do not modify any physical parts and, therefore, the work will usually go undetected by most garages.

Note: Usually

Seems like he's not quite certain after all

angel tuning?

The word chipping is enough to put you off :(

hes just trying to earn a few quid from unsuspecting boy racers

I would do my homework first.

which companies maps do they use?

Do you find anything when you do searches?

As said £299 is a lot of money for generic style map.

Their spelling / language isnt great.

Charge more than I do too lol.

how much do you charge angry dog? and where in east yorks are you?

guys, there is a thread here on group buy Jabba remap and prices are:

1.8T, 1.9 TDI & 2.0 TDI

Custom SRP £475 GB £427.50

Generic SRP £375 GB £337.50

why do you say that £299 is far too expensive for generic map? or am I confusing something?

Revo are undetectable!

Revo are undetectable!

Wanna bet!

Revo are undetectable!

Incorrect I am afraid, as Jabba or another remapper who flash over the obd port will tell you their map is perfectly detectable.

Hi Guys

Thanks for your comments regarding my company, Cartech, Just thought you might like to know some facts before any more assumptions about my company are posted. I have been in the motor trade for over 30 years, I have an MOT station and service centre, I have been re mapping vehicles for the last four years, the equipment I use is Byteshooter, CMD and Alientech , Im sure you agree quite an investment for someone "trying to earn a few quid from unsuspecting boy racers" Yes I agree my web site could be clearer with some facts but I have hundreds of satisfied customers who just want to know if his local garage is going to pick up on his re map when his service is due. I travel all over the UK and offer, an "if not delighted then no charge guarantee" (something I certainly could not offer with the overhead of fuel prices and equipment) Yes I do get my files over the internet but it is not practical to re map a vehicle myself whilst on site at the other end of the country, I do not think that £299 is excessive either for a nationwide service. I am all for free speech and open debate but with regard to some of the comments made, I would have preffered the courtesy of a phone call or an Email to get the facts first. It goes without saying that as a first post on this board I do not want to appear confrontational, in fact quite the opposite, I am in business, and all I want is the customer to be satisfied at a fair price, something I think my company offers.

Regards

Harold Sykes (Cartech)

Well that clears that up then.

I presume the files are from a reputable mapping company?

p.s welcome to the forum.
