The NTL "cap" was a psychological operation designed to get a small number of major downloaders off the service.

Most of them were scared off to the faster (at the time) ADSL services, thus NTL were happy with a job well done.

The "cap" has been quietly shelved ;)

Hmm. Obviously the chap who was on the end of this BT CS phone call decided to get a job for a telco CS department considering his strong feelings :D

edited to say not worksafe audio (contains similar language to NTL message)
