squashed sill flanges

Featured Replies

i was amazed when quick fit had to fix a puncture on my car they used a lift carefully and some how managed not to cause any damage!!! i tend to find a point further underneath to jack it up with trolley jack but always paranoid as im not 100% where's safe under the car.

ps i dont see any arrows under my car

look for indentations on the bottom of the sill.

I've seen kwikfit use airbags to lift cars - that's what the mobile guy used anyway. Seemed pretty good for avoinding damage to the sills.

Mine are cack to

I have seem my mobile fitter using an airbag approach to lift the car. At home I use a trolley back futher under the car - have only had to use my scissor jack once (flat tyre in the car park at work).

Just checked min after all this and thankfull to say all is coolio not a squashed pancake in sight, however will be keeping an eye on it.

If your main dealer did damage them whilst servising/repairing/MOT etc etc what would you do or what come back would you have?

Whilst the tyre fitter damaged mine, I had mine up on a 2 pillar lift the other week and the guy just used the normal jacking points, without causing any damage at all. Not even a VAG dealer either!

That side seal damage is horrific! Sounds like you took the news pretty well!

I think the guy was lucky - I was on nights, and was still half asleep, so didn't have the energy to go postal!!!! :)

Still wasn't a happy bunny though, but it all got sorted, I got my new tires for free, and the only thing I was concerned about was that it may have been bodged, as he arranged the body shop. Having now had it up on the 2 pillar lift, I'm quite satisfied the job's been done properly.
