TFSI Software Update

Featured Replies

My dealer has just called to say my 07 plate TFSI needs an 'urgent' update.

This is fine, but, I am told that this update is so 'urgent' that it can't wait for me to cover 800 miles and have the service done at the same time.

Anybody know what this update could relate to? When I asked I was told that it prevents the car from going into 'limp-home' mode.

Thanks

Wow thats not so good, be sure to let us know if you find out more.

I had an engine software upgrade done before but it wasn't urgent, the car is way better because of it, both in preformance & sound

Is this the 0040 update you're talking about or is it a more recent one?

If it is the ECU update then mine is going in today on the way home. Got the phonecall last Friday.

It has been a bulletin for quite sometime and my VIN was covered but on their system there was nothing against my actual car.

It would be interesting to know what it actually 'cures' as mine has not gone into limp mode for the last 27000.

I've got a late (July) 07 and I've not been heard anything.

I wonder is this the same as the update I got, mine never went into limp mode.

Mine was serviced last week but nothing was mentioned to me then

I had a phone call from my dealer earlier today saying my car was due a service, until I pointed out the car is on variable. He didn't mention anything to me about an update. My car is a March 07, built to order, I wonder if the OP's car was a pre-built one?

Well mine is a March 06 car which got plugged into VAS last November and it said no update available.

When I pick it up tomorrow I will let you know the s/w version.

I think mine has had this update, and if so I've noticed bugger all difference...

OK, the update is coded as '24KS ECU update recall' on the job sheet.

It 'fixes' an engine management 'problem' whereby the car goes into limp-mode.

I have noticed no problems before, and the car appears to be no different.

BTW there was also a 56-plate vrs in at the same time for the same job.

I think it could be 24K5 ;)

Mine also never went into limp mode.

It will overwrite any remaps aswell.

You should have a campaign sticker in the boot and or in the service book too.
