Best looking cars on sale now?

Featured Replies

I was wondering what people here think are the best looking cars on sale at the moment.

This is based just on the appearance of the vehicle. Not the price , not the brand name , not how fast it is , nothing else but how it looks as it drives past.

It must be something that's currently available to buy from a showroom in standard form.

What would you pick for the winner in the following categories.

1) City cars - Peugeot 107 sized.

2) Superminis - Fiesta/Fabia sized.

3) Small family car - Golf/Focus sized.

4) Large family car - Octavia/Mondeo sized.

5) Large Executive car - e.g. 5/7 series.

5) People carrier

6) Four wheel drive

7) Convertible/Sports

I'm guessing that Skodas won't do too well in this because while they do have a lot going for them , they aren't particularly stunning to look at.

Convertible/sports: has to be the Audi R8 for me. Even better when the V12TDI comes out.

A black R8 drove past me today

I could've had him if I was in the right gear :D

^ Yes.

I'm surprised I wasn't escorted out of Cardiff Audi earlier after doing a sex wee on their R8...

It may breakdown a lot, and have mind-boggling electrics (like my old 156)..... but it IS better looking than the R8.

Would I prefer to see the Alfa sitting in my driveway?.... Yes.

Would I buy it over the R8?.... No.

I can honestly say that Alfa is a pug ugly car and then some.

It does nothing for me aesthetically.

On balance the R8 is a steroid TT but it's miles nicer than that 8C

The Alfa is nice (but doesn't really look like an Alfa - if you'd never seen one before you wouldn't know it was an Alfa without the badge) but it doesn't look quite right and isn't a patch on the R8

1)

2) Superminis - New Ford Fiesta

nice, but the OP / Title says "on sale now"

When is it due on sale?

I've seen Ford are really trying hard to shift the old ones but I think it's still a couple of months off.

I'd actually put that rule in more to stop people trying to vote for the Fabia VRS as it's no longer available.

Something that's nearly on sale (like the Fiat 500 I picked) isn't too much of a problem but if it's half a year away then it gets excluded :D

Aixam............and there cheap

Octy is not a large family car. It's in the aimed at the same segment as the focus (it's just the biggest in it's class)

3) Small family car - Citreon C4

4) Large family car - BMW 3-Series (in graphite grey with the optional 17"s! the 15" wheels look far too small)

5) Large Executive car - Mercedes Benz CLS or a Maseratti Quattroporte

5) People carrier - Is there a good looking people carrier? I suppose the Honda FRV comes close.

6) Four wheel drive - Audi RS4  There is no good looking off-road cars in my opinion! Apart from the Ford F150 Lightning, but thats neither a 4x4 or an off road car.

7) Convertible/Sports - The Zonda F is a fine looking thing!

I forgot all about the fiat 500

Here we go again.

Focus 4342

Golf 4204

Astra 4250

Megane 4228

Avensis 4645

Octavia 4507

Vectra 4596

So while the octavia is a little bit shorter than some of the alternatives that people might look at , it's far larger than the small family cars like the golf

BUT is not SOLD in the same category as the vectra, passat, avensis etc

Schweet spot - Telegraph

"Skoda hasn't just caught up; it has leapfrogged lesser opposition to be an impressively credible alternative to anything in its market sector. That includes the Renault Megane, Peugeot 307 SW, Vauxhall Astra, Fiat Stilo and Ford Focus "
