C&F Loony Convoy From the South - 26/01/08

Featured Replies

If anyone fancy's an absolute bonkers drive up to the C&F Meet at the end of the month then we will be meeting at around 7:00am with a view to leave at 7:30am from Chieveley Services at the junction of the A34 & M4.

It's quite a trip to the Peak District but once there you're greeted by some of the finest roads and scenery in the country and well worth the trip imo + the Brisky guys 'n girls up north ain't as bad as they say they are! ;)

Currently the list stands at two...............and somehow I cant see it growing into the largest convoy ever, but you never know! :D

1. Makefish

2. Chris Ellis

If you leave the M6 at J15 I could meet you & make it a 3 car convoy. :D

Who's idea was it to get up at that god forsaken hour.;):D

 - a sterling effort chaps, I'm sure it'll be worth it. For some good Northern air, if nothing else ;)

See you soon

Steve

I will have to zip over then if the southern shandy drinkers are making the trek as well :D

You could get off at sandbach and take the A534 and the A54 up there, that will wake you up on the way there :D great road to get you in the mood:thumbup:

How many hundred miles is this?

Insanity, plus think of the fuel bill Steve

WARNING: Don't forget there is a few flooded roads around Gloucestershire area.

but if you are doing M5 I'll join you around Michealwood services or Tewksebury services

What time do you expect to be at either of these services?

Our route will be more likely be: A34, M40, M42 & M6 then follow our noses to the Cat & Fiddle ;)

ah well you shouldn't need to convert the cars into boats that way, well unless the A34 floods again, near Oxford.

its currently dry up this way unless you are venturing over fields ;)

Loony convoy? Only lunatics allowed then? ;) hehe!

I'm well scared now, I have to go on my own! But I need to come see you all!

Where you driving from loz?

I'll be coming from lancaster... you live in blackpool don'cha?!

Yes I do, maybe I could meet up with you first, then find wardy wherever it is he's meeting me - we could have a 'Cat and Fiddle Loz convoy'!! lol! I would like that :)

As I'm fairly local to the C&F I don't mind meeting people around J15 of the M6 & guiding you in through Stoke as its not that far.

May well take you up on that offer

No prob theres a big lay-by on the A500 just off J15 so it should be easy enough to meet up there & then convy through the sights of Stoke. :-)

That would be coolio by me... could meet you like at fulwood asda in preston if you're coming on the m55 from blackpool that would seem a sensible place... but any other suggestion? I don't know anywhere else along the m6 etc.

Loz, I can meet you at the end point noted here (layby off J19 of M6, on the A556)

The route to the C&F is then detailed here (21.2 miles from layby to pub). So I'd recommend you we meet at 10.15.

The coordinates for the pub are 53.243798, -1.999582 (decimal) for anyone who wants accurate satnav instructions :) (postcode is pointless as it covers far too wide an area)

HTH,

Steve
