Overclocking

Who else does this???

I have just started my system is as follows

AMD XP2000 (1.67GHz)

768MB PC2700 DDR

Saphire 9600 Atlantis 256MB Graphics

Crative SoundBlaster Live 5.1 Dig

80GB Maxtor HD

Currently upped my CPU voltage to 1.65(not pushing it untill I get my new CPU cooler :D) will get it to 2GHz oh yes @1.71V

Reflashed my Graphics card bios so its's now a 9600 pro with clock core at 400.5 and Memory at 225 just benchmarked it using 3dmark2003 at 2695 not bad considering it was 2300ish stock. Best of all extra performance for not much dosh  If anyone is using a Radeon graphics card (or Nvidia GForce) I highly reccomend the Omega catalyst drivers as they wipe the floor with ATI's (heard good stuff about their Nvidia ones as well)can be found at http://www.omegacorner.com/

P4 1.8 O/C'd to 2.1 ;)

Had it running higher but wasn't as stable as it could have been, and i couldnt be bothered playing with settings to fix it :)

I'll try those drivers for my 9700 Pro though, cheers

Geoff you will not be disapointed. I was runnig catalyst 4.4 (latest drivers) and when I was playing Vietcong it slowed down so bad, but when I binned them for the Omega catalyst 4.4 woah it played perfectly

athlon 2500 Barton core running at 3200 :)

the motherboard i have (chaintech ultra 7njs) allows approx 2 billion changes in the BIOS to achieve the max out of the cpu, but all i had to do to get this pushing 2.2GHz was to change the FSU to 200 instead of 166. I've just done a reinstall of XP as well so the bloody thing is flying :) :) :)

I've been overclocking since I had an Abit BP6 with dual 366Mhz celerons running at 506Mhz - used NT as the OS as 95 and 98 can't handle dual processing - you should have seen the difference in Photoshop that an extra processor can make ;)

I feel that I approach computer oc'ing the same as I do car remapping - something for (almost) nothing is the dogs danglies :)

I run a P4C 2.8GHz at 3.4GHz and a 9800PRO at XT speeds these days... it replaced a 1GHz AMD Thunderbird running at 1.333GHz and Ti4400 at Ti4600 speeds. That system was a replacement for a 300MHz Celeron running at 450MHz which had replaced a Pentium 60 running at 66MHz.

The 25MHz 386 before that didn't overclock. :(

pIV2.4C doing somthing...pushing RAM thats it...:D

Yes I do it, used to do alot more, but sort of gave up when Briskoda was born, well it was briskoda or a custom water project :D Have the drill bit for the pipes to go to the old header tank in the loft and everything...even paper models..how close ;)

I think the gphx card is clocked aswell. Radeon 9800 thingy on a Canterwood IC7-G, Q spotted me on ocuk aswell...

Athlon XP barton 2500+ (1.8gig) AXDA stepping. overclocked to xp4200+ (2.6gig) 210x12.5 on standard voltage and air cooling ;) (cooling with a Thermalright SLK-900 AIR cooler and panaflow 92mm fan for 30db quietness) :D

Asus A7N8X deluxe nforce2 mobo, with modified N/B heatsink to fit the cpu cooler

1gig corsair twinx 3200 LL platinum (current system bottleneck) :o

Radeon 9700pro with a Zalman passive heatpipe cooler.. overclocked in the bios to near 9800pro speeds.

Soundblaster Audigy... Hacked to a audigy2

40x8x40 Liteon cd-burner "overclocked" to 52x24x52

until recently i also had 8hdds in there too.. 5 scsi, 2 ide and a SATA raptor drive

now just got the ide and sata

all powered by a CWT 650w psu. and housed in a Lian-Li PC61 aluminium case. with a mere 3 cooling fans always running on the slowest setting.

(this PC was designed to be quiet as possible hence the f**koff huge heatsink.)

What about the flux capicitors?

Myself and faboka vrs are lucky enough to have machines in work not too disimilar from out home machines, useful for those network games of unreal tournament or live for speed during our less busy periods :D

My current system at home is:

Chieftec BX-01 Black Case (V. Nice highly recommended)

Athlon XP 2500+ (Barton @ 2.06Ghz 170fsb) Cooled by some coolermaster silent jobby.

512Mb PC2100 (Big Bottleneck  )

ATI Radeon 9200 128Mb (Which is poo but does the job)

Soundblaster Live 5.1 Player

1x 10Gb Maxtor

2x 80Gb Maxtor Diamondmax 9+

1x External 20Gb USB2

LG 16x DVD Rom

12x Mirai CD-Writer (Still does the job fine if a little slower than some!)

....and more case fans than you can shake a stick at :jab:

I also have lying around another 5 or so full working pc's of varying spec from my good old P166 to my P3-733 server which sits on my broadband connection collecting all 10 series of friends

However the best is my slightly modded xbox which runs xboxmediacenter to play all my mp3s and vids.... quality.

Working on lighting my pc again now I have the new case, my old pc was a bit of a nova, with all it's neons and go faster stripes! The xbox is also getting rather colourful and when I get some more cash together (which seems like never) then it's gonna get a nice shiny lcd thing added to it... which is nice.

Check out some of the pix in the computer section in the gallery on my website. www.craigrigby.co.uk

Oooo, a live for speed player

should have a game sometime :D

Bring it on fat boy! Ur not coming go-karting are you? Can't beat a little real life live for speed! Think I met you at the handling day I was the one filming you I have your stall on camera if you remember :D I was there with john (faboka vrs)

We've got a live for speed server up and running which is run off my adsl line, it's listed as www.lxra.co.uk, which is the also the website address for our lfs team! The server might be a bit slow at the moment tho coz I'm downloading some friends off BT ;) Not been on lfs for a while coz had to move out my flat and not got broadband at my new house yet  , so the server sits on my broadband at me parents house.

Not been on lfs for a while coz got ****ed of with John winning all the time[/b'] .

:D

Oh god.. so your actually good at LFS then?

may have to invest in a decent forcefeedback wheel then :D

Yeah forcefeedback rocks in a very real and special way :drive:

Seeing that we've hijacked this thread, I think we need to take this else where.

South City Clasic anyone :D

You know you'll lose, just wait til karting.

I WAS ROBBED DAMN YOU !!!! :finger:
