Online MPG calculator thingy... spritmonitor.de

Well, I see a few of us now have these MPG icons in our signatures.

Mileage Calculator and Vehicle's Costs Analyser allows you to keep track of all your car costs, fuel, repairs and depriciation. Tis quite handy if you like to keep an eye on these things, and if you're a bit sad!:rofl:

Its totally free, and keeps a cumulative average for mpg, pence per mile etc. Also, you can get the little mpg thing as an img for your sig too.

Quite pleased with mine, as the car has been ruthlessly thrashed recently, and also shows the trip computer to be no more than 1mpg out too! Looking forward to after the JKM meet to doing some sensible driving in warmer temps and seeing it creep up again. :)

It was this that showed my Fabia was about 20% out... ho-hum :)

Hopefully it'll be more accurate (albeit, lower) for the Octy!

I've created an account on this about a month ago and back populated it with data and it has shown that my trip computer is less than 1mpg out :D

The wide range of Skoda owner's mileage was interesting: from 75.6 mpg ("Ambiente" 91 BHP diesel) to 22.2 (4x4 estate 150 BHP petrol)

Does the little MPG icon update its self automatically or do you have to copy and paste the link everytime you update?

Its quite nice because you can add every car cost to it, maintenance, tuning etc including the purchase price...

You can also set reminders for certain mileages/times so it emails you when your cambelt is due, for example.

Automatically updates :)

Thankyou Thomas

Must say it all seems pretty accurate so far

Mine won't display the MPG It just says Mileage values for this vehicle not available :(

How do you get it to work???

whats wrong with looking at how many miles you done since your last fill up divided by the amount of litres put in and multiplied by around 4.5

Cos the fancy website does all that for you :P

Tom, Does it take a while for the site to work out your MPG as it dunt do anything for mine??? Have I missed something???

takes at least two readings to start working

Ill give this a try... altho im not sure i want to know the lack of economy my driving has

Just added my second fueling to mine... and my on-board is over-reading by 0.5 MPG :)

I'm happy!

Um.... I'm being a bit thick :o

To start you off do you just select first fill or do you need to wait until you can enter a value for a x amount of litres to cover x miles (ie when I next fill up) ?

you make your car, then go to "fuelings"

you add the miles you've done and the litres you filled up with, and after the second fill up it'll give you your average (since you can't have an average of one value)

also, this needs to be brimmed till the pump stops, and no more, other wise the calculations are wrong

Ah ok. I was thinking I had to somehow tell it that I was starting with a full tank but seeing as you tell it both how much fuel you used and how many miles you covered in that time there is no need to do so.

I'll have to remember to start writing down my mileage :o

Ummm... something isnt right here now ive added my second fuelling  - its 10mpg out from my trip computer :eek:

That's how my Fabia was ;)

No idea how to get it into my sig, but mine is sitting at 38.7mpg :D

Which is slightly above what the computer says.

I must drive like a grandad !

Yes, you must do... its more than my furby

By an Octy then ! ;)

:D

Already got a (very complicated!) spreadsheet charting all sorts of crud but I like how this one works out cost per mile and also your CO2 emmissions.

Anyone getting near what the manufacturers state for CO2!? I'm not in the Fabia or the BMW. Maybe I shoudl voluntarily pay some more road tax?

And the BMW OBC is pretty pants- under reads by about 2.5mpg.
