power drop

Featured Replies

Hi there i have a re maped vrs with dump valve and induction kit. Runs great around town but on long motorway drives it seems to go into low boost and killes the power even more so after useing cruise control this is after abot half hour. Any ideas?

I'm not saying this is the answer, but the next time you get the power loss, pull into the next service area, and compare how hot the front wings are.

If the RH wing is markedly hotter than the LH, you need to fit some extract vents from the intercooler, which basically means removing the RH arch liner, and drilling some holes, or cutting a vent and fitting either the Audi TT vent, or a pikey louvre vent from a DIY warehouse.

Is it major loss of power or minor?

Could it be the ecu getting used to your driving and only when off the motorways coming back to life again.

Does a good thrash bring it back to life?

Mine goes a bit sleepy when i take it easy, then comes back to life again when its given a thrash.
