hi could anyone please help me? i have just bought my first octavia vrs and during first day of driving noticed temp gauge was not working. it had been working earlier in the day. is this a common problem if not could anyone tell me what checks to carry out to try and diagnose thanks

Yes it is a common problem it's the sender more than likely. You need a vag com check to verify really

For the price of the sensor just do it

It is very very common

So much so that the part has been superceeded

We buy these 100 at a time

059 919 501A 4 pin green sensor

Then the seal to go with it

Approx £25 ish

So easy to do too
